Creating PDF pattern downloads

Hi Everyone, 

My name is Jill of Sew What Designs. Not sure if this is the correct forum for my question (if not I would appreciate where to ask), but I have many original designs that I created 20 years ago on a software that no longer exists. As of now all of my patterns are in hard copy paper files.

So I am looking for guidance on how to create PDF pattern downloads for sale on Etsy. They are mostly 3D beaded ornaments on perforated paper so graphics would need to be very detailed. Are there any programs you would recommend?

Adobe Capture is an app that if you take a picture of your hard copy, it will create a vector art drawing for you.

What programs do you work with? The alternative is to scan and image trace in Adobe Illustrator.
