Yes.
The instructions for this appear to have vanished and I quickly recreated them here
http://zimpro.co/blog/selecting-a-group-of-items-to-batch-edit/ Follow the instructions attached and then LEAVE the filter menu open and then open the other editor window. This selects the category you selected in the filter menu. You can hop back and forth between windows and change the filtering if needed,
