Wordpress.org anyone

Hi team. Thanks for allowing me to join you all! I am in the process of hiring a designer to create a simple one page website for my room design business and a custom blog to go with it. Does anyone use wordpress.org? It looks as though most of your blogs are of the .com variety. I am web site stupid and not sure how all this works. Any input would be appreciated.

I use wordpress.org for 2 sites. On the most recent one I thought I'd try wordpress.com and within a week found it was not suitable for my needs and switched to the .org version.

What exactly are you looking for?

With wordpress.org you have many more options but...

-You have to host your own site - this is a per year cost
-You are in charge of site maintenance, backup, and spam blocking.

I am a .org blogger, I use Bluehost to do my self-hosting and while it is more expensive, I think I paid $140 for the year, it is what will suit my needs in the long-run.

I did everything on my own, and I am no computer or CSS whiz, so if I could do it, you can certainly do it with a web designer!
