Anyone work with wire and stones....

Have you found any particular stones are popular sellers here on Etsy? I am staring at my collection and wondering what to do next :) Actually, I just got my first natural Paula shell cabs and I am itching to see if I can wrap them, working with shell will be a first for me, but they were too beautiful to pass up. :)

I work mostly with beads, but the paua abalone are always a winner!

Re: Anyone work with wire and stones....

Thanks Lee, I did do one tonight and wow, what a beautiful work of nature. The one I have is natural paua and the colors are truly brilliant. Now the question becomes...wear it or list it : )

Re: Anyone work with wire and stones....

I cut and polish cabs for my own jewelry plus sell to other jewelry makers. I think the more exotic stones and unusual patterns will always be good sellers.

In fact.....I'm off to my lapidary station to get some done to replenish my supply now.

I just sold a custom wire wrapped real seabiscuit (which is like a sanddollar only thicker).

I will be looking forward to seeing today's work Terri :) That sea biscuit was gorgeous. I though so Debra, I find tastes to be so different that it hard to know what to do next. :)

I find that hematite, tiger eye, lapis, and carnelian consistently sell well.

Re: Anyone work with wire and stones....

Well, I have only one carnelian listed so far and I was amazed at how many times it has come up in search stats. Lapis is definitely another one. Thanks!

Re: Anyone work with wire and stones....

I find labradorite is extremely popular! I find people on my Facebook fan page asking for it all the time and have a current request for a rainbow moonstone. If you have a Fan page I suggest asking your fans what they like. I've done it a few times and gotten some really god feedback on it.
