Who is going to Craftacular this Saturday? 1241 N. Ridge Road, 10-2 (see Facebook for their page). I'll be there as a vendor--and as a buyer too.

Folks, this is a great way to connect with local artisans. This is a truly handmade show. Okay, so there are supplies and vintage there (which is awesome too!), but the show is designed to showcase handmade, so no Scentsy, Pampered Chef, or the like. How refreshing to be a part of a craft fair that is truly handmade!

I hope to see you guys there. I know there will be several Etsians showing their wares, and I look forward to shopping and supporting local!

Yes! I'll be at Craftacular. I'm set up as a vendor. Was excited as week at the prospect of an event more geared to handmade items. Hoping folks will hear about it and come by.

Traffic today was down from last year. Did you do last year?

I ended up doing about what I expected today. I'm afraid some vendors may not have made back their booth fee. Leanne says she will probably not do one next year.

Oh thanks Jeannie! It was great to meet you as well. I didn't do it last year, didn't know about it, but the funny thing is I did better than at most shows I've done in the recent past. Not great, but better than most. That's a shame Leanne may not do it again and that many didn't do so well. I really liked her and the vendors at this show. It's so hard to figure how to make this kind of thing work in Wichita. I've learned you can't predict what works and I've done high volume shows at century 2 and that was the worst I did! Just never know.
I wish Wichita had a more supportive culture for makers. It can be hard to find a venue.
I'm wiped out as well! But I was happy it was 4 hours instead of the usual 6 or 7. Hope the rest of your weekend is relaxing!

Oh, you said it, Jan! It is SO hard to find a good venue where handcrafted is appreciated. So many times, a lot of craft fairs are just venues for little old ladies to pass an afternoon. What I call "tire kickers".

I've done so many big Century II shows. Last year's Craftapalooza in November was a snoozer. It was the same time as the Veteran's Day parade, and the city closed off all the streets. Our traffic just died! And, as I recall, the booth fees were not the cheapest either.

I hope we all can stay tuned to this team and can keep an ear to the ground for good, productive shows.
