What am I doing wrong? Help me for the love of Pete!

My jewelry sells well from my own website. My jewelry sells well in retail stores. My jewelry does NOT sell on etsy. At all.

I am thinking my price point is high, but the materials I use are expensive. Also, I sell through a few retail stores and can't undercut their pricing - since they buy at wholesale prices, I really can't price any lower. So dropping my prices isn't really an option, as most of the money I am making is coming from these retailers.

Would it make sense to create and list lower priced items in the hope of getting sales? Should I do paid promotions?

Also, I am not getting a lot of views...People who click my stuff seem to "favorite" it, but I am apparently just attracting window shoppers. How do I attract buyers?

Any advice is appreciated! Thank you all.

I just looked at your shop and your items are beautiful!

I have an older store here on Etsy and I have to admit, my higher priced items seem to sit quite a long time. I think it's hard for people to make a purchase of a high priced item when they are not able to look at it and feel it.
Brick and mortar stores offer that experience so I am not surprised your work sells in those venues.

I started making less expensive items for my other store and sales picked up. If you want to see my price point my other shop is at

Maybe with time your sales here on Etsy will pick up and you won't have to produce a lower priced line, time will tell....

Best wishes,
Tonya

Tonya - Thanks so much for your response and thanks too for complimenting my work! I looked at both your shops and your work is beautiful - love your style!

Since posting here, I have done a few sales, some lower priced pieces (less than $60) as well as a few $180-$400, so I am feeling much more confident now. The 3 lesser priced items I sold (horseshoe earrings) sold in less than 48 hours after I uploaded - the first pair sold before I'd even uploaded the next! Now that I have a bit more time, I'm going to make a whole bunch of those $30-$60 earrings and see what happens.

I also discovered that with the higher priced items, I had conversations with the buyers back and forth before they committed. They wanted to know exact sizes, dimensions, return policy, etc before spending that much money on something sight unseen, which I certainly understand! The nice thing is, one of the buyers of a more expensive piece ordered a custom piece from me right after her first piece arrived, and another customer is also discussing further purchases. My jewelry is a bit unusual - not for everyone - but I have found at brick and mortar stores as well as my own site that I have repeat customers quite frequently...My bread and butter.

Again thanks for the input - think you were spot on about doing some lower priced items.

Best wishes for continued success to you,

Vanessa
