Re: Holga

That's like me and the Diana, got me using film again!

My boyfriend was pretty funny as it was a total eye opener into how digital he we've all got, he literally had no idea about loading film, developing etc. I think as a kid he never bothered much with cameras!

Re: Holga

I swear I must have 7 Dianas and a handful of clones haha. I just love toy cameras, they make my world happy! I have a gorgeouss DSLR that I adore, but it's predictable perfection is boring sometimes. I love that unseen hand interacting with my film with my plastic cameras, so much fun!

Re: Holga

The Holga is my main camera. I use it by itself and also with a polaroid back for my macro holgaroids. These days I have been focusing more on drawing and collage work, so it's gotten a bit neglected. My film habit seems to have turned into an art supply habit.

Re: Holga

Has anyone tried the Holganizer ? it's easier and cheaper than processing films.
I don't really know if it looks exactly the same as real Holgas, i don't have a real one, but it's quite enough for my use !

Re: Holga

Eeeewww, yucky:)

I just can't get my head around that. Film is fun.
Some of the Holga fakery plugins are kind of cool, but they always look the same. The beauty of cheapo cameras is the serendipity. That funny reflection, that weird light leak that comes and goes, the scratch on the lens. It's all so unpredictable.

Re: Holga

just bought the script.
Not unpredictable, but not predictable : there are many many settings to play with, and unflattened layers.

They're only about $40-$50 online, but I found my 2nd one at a Salvation Army for $5, so you never know.

Re: Holga

One thing to NOT waste your money are the new digital "holga" lenses for canons, nikons etc.
You get out of focus photos with a lot of purple fringing and none of loveliness from a real toy camera. Sadly, I learned the expensive way.

Re: Holga

I have one of those lenses for my rebel xti, Judy. I bought it from holgamods a few years ago. Used it once, but you can't beat the real thing. I'm also frighten, btw. You answered my question about photographing artwork in techniques.

Re: Holga

You can have much more fun making a pinhole body cap for your DSLR. Now that's cool!
