I'm starting this thread because I think I do! I can't get enough of them. I find myself buying ones I have no room for and always looking for that perfect doll? Does this happen to you?
I bought a super head hatsand this year when I was on holiday in the USA and have to admit that at my last vintage fair a certain young lady was lying behind a stall but managed to wink at me and catch my eye and as soon as I had sold enough I went over to the girl selling her and slapped the money in her hand and then sat with her on my lap looking very pleased with myself for the rest of the show. She is currently taking pride of place in my lounge sitting on a bookcase, don't want to hide her away in my bedroom where no one can see her beauty.
My name is Marcia and I am a bed doll addict too. I love anything art deco, so the vintage bed dolls are a great favorite. I envy those of you who can go to vintage fairs and vintage shops where dolls of great aged beauty can be found, but then again if I could go I could not afford to buy much. So, I love to look and make. I make art dolls and I make clothing for ball jointed dolls. I spend hours on the internet looking at doll related things...
Thank you so much! I am taking pictures of my vintage girl to share, but my camera battery just died! Anyway, I really should get out of here go get some work done! lol
Cool!! I've been looking for something to start it off....... I'm a bit scared that it really could become an addiction! The dolls are amazing but I can't quite afford one yet so I thought I would take baby steps first lol ;)
AnnaBelle, I'm so proud of you! That was the first step to a real problem! I'm totally kidding! :) Those are so lovely! The deco faces are just fantastic!
Sorry AnnaBelle but you are hooked. Boudoir dolls are definitely like potato chips -- you can't stop at just one and there's always room for one more:) Love your purchase, BTW. Good thing you snapped them up before I spotted them!
I think you are just the one to make a cleaning fairy! What a fun project that would be. She'll need a duster and a bottle wine hidden in her cleaning bucket. :) My husband thinks I am a cleaning fairy, grrrrr! My "studio" is the only messy place in the house. I don't have the ability to be creative unless I'm surrounded by a bunch of things that stimulate my mind.
Oh..... but I need a magic wand to make the fairy actually clean!! I would make millions ;)
Hahaa! My husband thinks I am too!
I hear you on the creative mess, but mine has gotten out of control. We have a large two story studio, my husband has the upstairs where he works and I have the downstairs. We only have air-conditioning in the studio so I spend as much time in here as I can and I make a huge mess when I work on stuff. I've been feeling really creative lately and can't seem to stop between projects to clean everything up.
I'm officially turning the computer off for the rest of the day to do some more cleaning. Have a great day everyone :D
I am happy to have stumbled upon this site! I am in love with boudoir dolls but I am a new collector. I have three now. I do want more. They are so beautiful. Two are from the 1930s and one is from the 1940s. I would like to find one from the 1920s. I was turned on to these because I am obsessed with the flapper/art deco era. I found my first doll at a neat antique store. Well, I was there again this weekend and found two more! It made my day :).
