missing pattern piece

I have a 1980s maternity pattern which is missing a piece. The missing piece is called elastic guide. As far as I can tell from the pattern it simply tells one how much elastic one needs for the back of the pants. I personally would have no problem completing the outfit without this pattern piece, but am not sure how others would react; or considering that the pattern provides dress & tunic in addition to pants if they would even care. However the pattern is incomplete and I wonder if I can sell it as is if I clearly specify that the elastic guide for the pants is missing. Or if I just forget about listing it.

You are correct, in that the elastic guide just shows how much to cut.

I have several patterns that are missing pieces... I list them on a case-by-case basis. Most of them are missing small things like a cuff or the facing for a collar, etc. I always state this clearly, and usually sell them at a pretty steep discount, depending on what might be missing. If it's missing something super important, like part of a bodice or whatnot, I usually just hang on to them. Maybe I'll get crafty one day, or maybe I'll find another damaged copy of the pattern somewhere and will be able to splice together a whole one. ^_^
