Vintage patterns in Australia

I am hoping that some team members from Australia might have some information that would help me.

I recently purchased a bulk lot of patterns from a local seller, some of which where in post marked envelopes so I know the original owner was local too. They are mostly from the big-4 pattern companies.

Interestingly, many of the pattern envelopes are a different type of paper to ones I've bought from Etsy sellers in the USA. It's not glossy paper that tends to go brittle and flake, but a thicker, rougher texture that isn't brittle at all.

Many of them are only in black and white too, though I've found colour versions of the pattern illustrations on Etsy and the Pattern wiki. Have any Australian members noticed this too?

I'm considering listing images of both my B&W pattern envelope and the colour versions I find the web to give people a truer idea of the pattern. Are there any listing issues I should be aware of?

Thanks for sharing!

Re: Vintage patterns in Australia

How interesting--what are the dates of the patterns?

I wouldn't steal other people's images off the web--that would be a copyright issue at least here in the US unless they are specifically licensed for commercial use. But you could link to them. That's what I do when I have a pattern where the envelope is in tatters and I want to show a better version of the art.
