Pictorial Review patterns

Hello all,

I've recently acquired some fabulous vintage patterns including a bunch of Pictorial Review ones and I'm wondering if anyone knows much about the company. From what I can glean on the Vintage Fashion Library pattern dating page and on the Vintage Pattern Wiki, they were around from the 1920s to 1940s - although there is conflicting info on those two sources as to whether they were then bought out by McCall or Simplicity.

I'd be grateful if anyone can shed some light on this.

If you'd like to see some of the lovely patterns, I'll be posting pics on my blog every Saturday - go to http://touchwooddesign.wordpress.com/

Cheers,
Eileen.

Re: Pictorial Review patterns

Eileen, love your McCalls and the Pictorial Review. I've had a few Pictorial Reviews, mainly 1920s, 1930s and a couple of newer ones and they are so classy. I checked the Pictorial Review 9114 on CoPA and it's not listed but then again, very few of the Pictorial Reviews are.

Thanks so much for looking Debora. They're fantastic patterns, aren't they?

If anyone else is familiar with the Pictorial Review pattern company and its history, please let us know.

Thanks,
Eileen.
