Pattern Price Advice Requests Thread

To make them easy to find, let's post all of our pattern pricing advice requests in one place.

To post a picture to the thread you can try a few options.
1. Find your pattern in the Vintage Pattern Wiki and link to that page.
2. Post your pattern to an Etsy listing and link to that page. (If you're not sure about the price, you can just put RESERVED in the listing title.)
3. Post your pattern to your flickr account and post a link here.

Re: Pattern Price Advice Requests Thread

I'll go ahead and start.
I have only seen reproductions of this type of pattern for sale, never originals so I have very little idea of what the going rate is for 1920's doll patterns.
This is McCall 1738, complete and in great condition.

Have you ever bought or sold one of these before?

Re: Pattern Price Advice Requests Thread

Just in my experience, specifically "Mccalls" 1920's" patterns (if complete and in good condition) start at about $30-$40 dollars for patterns related to adults. Seeing as it is a "doll pattern" that is outside my usual search.

I do not know the demand of doll patterns from this era. With that said, something like that may do better at auction (say its complete and in good quality) I would put asking price at $20 and see if there are any takers. If the demand is high it will easily go up.

Patterns in general from the 1920's-1930's even if a bid is placed low (such as $2.50) easily sky rocket to $30-$40 dollars if not more at auction depending if it is a gown or designer featured pattern.
