Anyone have direct checkout yet?

I've been reading that some estyians are now using direct checkout and seem to really like it. Anyone have it yet? I think I read they notify you via email.. Or via convo? Anyone know?

I'd like to give it a try and signed up to be notifies when it's "available to my area". So I don't know if they need to work out licenses country by country or not, but so far, not available to Norway.
Maybe when I move home next year they'll let me use it!

I have direct checkout in this shop--it hasn't become available in my vintage shop yet--it's OK--the one thing that I don't like about it that last week a person bought multiple items and I had no way to reimburse her for overage on shipping--she doesn't have a paypal account, soooo, I guess I'm stuck, waiting for her to contact me and ask about it--also I don't like it that you can't pay your Etsy bill with it--I think they are going to have to make some tweeks to the process and allow more flexibility

After seeing Paula's "review" I think I will wait on it. I haven't even read up on the details of it either. Let them work the bugs out first then revisit the idea.

I finally got DC, about 10 days now, and at least 40- 50 percent of my buyers are choosing it. It does cost a bit less than paypal, I'm all for that.

Paula, I see you had problems with a refund. If you view the transaction, you will find a pull down that says manage order. In there is a refund option. I've used it for partial refunds a couple of times without a hitch.

I just got the email today and signed up my shop. Glad there is a refund option, would be a PITA to not have that. Love the fact it is a bit less in fees than paypal. I am sure they will eventually allow us to pay our etsy bills through it?

I like it. It seems a bit slower to get my money into my bank acct than paypal does. It's only a few days though. I can wait a few days if it will make a difference in someone deciding to buy from me or not. So far, it seems good to me.

I got the email today that all I have to to do is activate it. It says that it will make weekly deposits into my bank account, but that if I want it sooner I can transfer it myself. Anyone have any problems with it?

I haven't asked for my money sooner, but have seen in other threads and teams that other etsyians are having no problem it.

I like Direct Checkout but have two issues.

I) if using Paypal for shipping the funds arent in Paypal so I have learned to keep a reserve to cover these expensives.

2) IF you are making custom orders, your account wont be credited until you mark it as shipped.

I do! Sold my first item with it yesterday for this shop and a few days ago for my other shop.

One thing I noticed....no receipt along with the printed postage and I could not print by clicking file, print. I had to right click and print or I could have saved I suppose. Also found the label in my email and don't know why!

Seems easy enough but if I want to buy postage through Etsy, it goes onto my monthly bill and is not deducted from the monies paid for the item.

I haven't noticed an increase in sales, but I have noticed an increase in sales paid using direct checkout. It is definitely popular with the customers! All in all, I think it is great addition, one that solves the frustration of customers who do not want to use PayPal.

I find sales increased about 60% with customers using DC. I'd love to be able to ask them if they choose to buy because of DC or if they would still have purchased their item via Paypal if that was their only option. It's annoying that you don't get your money right away. You have to use your own money AND mark it as shipped before etsy will release your funds, and then it takes another 3-4 days to be deposited in the bank.

Personally, I'd switch back to just Paypal except I can't afford to chance losing sales.

I have it and definitely think it helps sales. I do think it is a bit of a pain that they hold your money until you ship. It takes me about 10 days after marking shipped for my money to arrive in the bank. The only thing good about that is that if I need to make a refund for any reason the money is sitting there and I have that option.

The biggest pain to me about it is that I have multiple shops and I have been trying for months to get Etsy to help me get the option turned on in the other two shops with no luck whatsoever. They just send me generic email responses to my questions. That part is a bit frustrating.

I have seen a definate increase in sales in both of my shops, Abbysfabric and Rockintherust. I'd say up about 50% last month. As another person mentioned, a lot of that increase is from people new to Etsy.

I've had DC now for a couple of weeks for both my shops and overall I am happy with it.

Here are a couple of issues I have:

1. It takes a while to show up as ready to send to my bank account and it seems to sit in limbo for a day or so. Whether it was the Holiday weekend....not sure.

2. I'd like to pay my bill via my DC account and hopefully this comes soon.

3. I'd like to pay for MY Etsy purchases via my DC account and hopefully this too will come down the pike.

4. I'd like to pay for the postage via the payment the customer made. I believe it defaults to my credit card now.....not sure though.

That's all I can think of for now.
