Vela not editing my descriptions

I used Vela to add a statement about shipping times before all my descriptions in mid-December and it worked great, but now I am trying to delete that statement from the beginning of the descriptions and it won't work. I've tried like 4 or 5 times by now and I can't get it to delete. Help please!!!

Thanks for reaching out. I've listed the specific steps to follow in order to delete. However, the most important thing to remember is that in order for deletion to work, the text you enter (or paste) in the bulk edit delete field needs to be an exact match (including spaces and line breaks) to the text you wish to delete within the existing descriptions.

The good news is that you can visually tell when the two match, because the text will be struck through in red within the descriptions as you type.

1. Select the listings you wish to edit on the main listings page.
2. Click "Edit Listings"
3. Click "Description" on the sidebar and select "Delete" from the dropdown
4. Enter the text you'd like to delete (Note: The text should be crossed out in red)
5. Click "Apply" (Note: This saves the updates in Vela)
6. Click "Sync Updates" (Note: This pushes the updates to Etsy)

Like Jennifer, I used Vela to add a sentence regarding holiday shipping at the start of my descriptions -- followed by a return, so there'd be a blank space between the holiday note and the start of the listing description.

While I'm able to delete the sentence itself, I can't get rid of the "blank line" that precedes the listing -- and I don't want that extra space atop each of my listings!

Is there some type of coding character I can use to represent a line break preceding listings to get them back to their proper, original state? (I've left my holiday note in place, awaiting your reply, in the hopes that I can delete the blank line in conjunction with the sentence deletion.)

Hi Kasha -

We need to make this more clear, but the best way to delete the extra line after the holiday shipping message is to select "Delete" from the bulk edit dropdown, type the holiday shipping message, and then hit the "Enter" key to include the extra space as well.

Once you click "Apply" you'll be able to see if the extra space was deleted and if so, just click "Sync Updates" to send the updates to Etsy.
