Summer Craft Fairs in Utah Valley

Does anyone here have experience with any summer shows in Utah Valley? I am considering applying for either Orem Summerfest or Pleasant Grove Strawberry Days. I haven't attended either in years (never as a vendor), so I have no idea if either one would be worth it for me. Any advice? If you sold at one of these shows, what was your experience like? How was the crowd, organizers, other vendors, etc? Do you know of other shows I should consider? Thanks for any help you can give me!

Sarah i was actually just researching this as well! I am very interested in doing this. I have looked in the Park City's sunday market, They do it on main street every sunday. That place is BOOMING with success. I don't know if the time limit is up on that though. If you hear about the Orem summerfest let me know =)

Re: Summer Craft Fairs in Utah Valley

Hi Taylor! Thanks for the info about Park City. I'll have to look into that. I just sent out my application for Summerfest since the deadline is in just a couple of weeks. I've heard lots of good things about it from people who attend as shoppers and it's a really good price for a two day show ($100). I'm still not entirely sure how it will go selling-wise, but I guess every show is a bit of a gamble.
I also submitted an application for the boutique that's part of Lehi's rodeo week. I don't know anything about it other than that it is 3 days and the rodeo gets a huge crowd. It's cheap, though, so why not? :) They are both in June, so I'm not sure what I'll end up doing if they both accept me. If you're interested in a less expensive show that should (hopefully) have a good crowd, here's the link to the Lehi boutique info: http://www.lehi-ut.gov/discover/roundup/boutique. It's $50 for two days and $25 more if you want to do the optional 3rd day. Not too shabby :)
Good luck with your craft show ventures!

Re: Summer Craft Fairs in Utah Valley

Lehi sounds good, but I have a dilemma.... I teach at a year round school and will be at work during the days of Wed and Thurs.... Also I'm not going to have a ton of product, I'm pretty busy with online orders but would still like to give this a try... does anyone want to split/share a booth?

Re: Summer Craft Fairs in Utah Valley

For those of you more experienced with craft fairs, I am interested in doing the Lehi Pioneer days one, but I will only have had my baby 6 weeks to a month before. Do you think that would be too much to handle so soon after having a baby? I would have to have her in the booth with me and nurse her as needed. Would that weird out the customers?

Re: Summer Craft Fairs in Utah Valley

Marissa, I would highly recommend getting someone to help you out with it. Even if you can sit for most of the show, it can be really draining. I imagine it would be way more tiring with a new baby to take care of the whole time. Plus, you'll want to take breaks now and then for food, a nap, bathroom, etc. I don't think it would weird the customers out too much, but I do think it would help to have the extra hands there in case a customer comes by while you're nursing or changing diapers.

Re: Summer Craft Fairs in Utah Valley

Thanks for the info on these fairs. I have never done one but am very interested. Has anyone tried the Ogden farmers market on 25th street?
