Shipping to Canada?

Has anyone ever shipped to Canada? I have a custom order of two hooded towels to ship to Canada, and I have no idea what the cheapest way to ship it would be. She doesn't need them until Easter so it doesn't have to be fast shipping. Any input would be awesome.

Re: Shipping to Canada?

I shipped first class but my items go out in a large envelop so I dont know about boxes. You can look on USPU web site under calculate cost and it will tell you

As long as the weight isn't too much First Class is the way to go. Doesn't take that long as is super cheap.

I have shipped first class too and it is great, but it has be 13 ounces or less. I have found that the shipping time varies a ton though. One thing I shipped got there is less than 2 weeks, but then another thing took more than 6 weeks. I would give it plenty of time to get there just in case.

Re: Shipping to Canada?

The bad things about shipping to Canada are filling out the Customs Declaration, there is No Tracking, and it takes from one to three weeks depending on where it is going.

Re: Shipping to Canada?

I ship to Canada regularly not only for my shop but that's where my family is. (Maritimes/Atlantic Provinces) It's rare to have anything arrive in under three weeks other than a simple card (it's often longer than three). The delay is customs at the border & there is nothing we can do about that. As Jan mentioned, you can't track your items, either, without paying a very hefty fee based on whatever you're shipping. In my experience, it's just not worth it. Envelopes seem to arrive at their Canadian destinations than boxes do.

First class is definitely the way to go..

Re: Shipping to Canada?

When you write the "value" price in the declarations form, even if the item costs more than $50, write$30 on the form. Also, make the item as "gift" and not part of a business. Otherwise the recipient will have to pay additional Duty fees upon arrival... this is from years of shipping items to family (Toronto, Ontario & Calgary, Alberta) and business purchasers.

Good luck!
