Hello, and thank you for the open invitation. I'm a recently retired environmental planner who strives to leave an ever-decreasing footprint on our beautiful and fragile planet. While I do lots of repurposing, upcycling and recycling in my personal life, I can't say that my creative efforts are worthy of commercial sales just yet. However, I have many rescued items that I hope may be of use and inspiration to others in their creative endeavors. I look forward to the camaraderie of this team!

Hi I'm Sue, one half of Made by swimmer. I work collaboratively with my sister Jo. We live in Bournemouth in the South West of England. We both share a passion for recycling and have been making toys and accessories using recycled fabrics for several years now. We are new to Etsy so any support and advice we can get from others is greatly appreciated.

I had the privilege of joining this team this week. Love it. I have seen so many creative people here and enjoy reading the posts. I also hope time allows me to participate often.

I have always been an "upcycler" and just didn't know it. I look at tossed objects and think certainly they can be used for a different purpose. I have no problem curb crawling although my husband is mortified and usually puts a hood up so no one knows who it is. I say PFFFTTT, their loss is my gain because I know I will create art from it.

My shop is www.etsy.com/shop/thREegreenart and I would love to have you stop over and visit. Thanks! Sue

Making a couple of years break, I found myself again. again began to draw and paint. It inspired me to join the profession of painting. 2013 must complete and receive a diploma.

But a little bit early, quite suddenly and unexpectedly, my best friend introduced me to the world of jewelry. I would have never thought of that, I'll do it, and yet with such a passion.

My jewelry career began with soutache technique, just recently, I fell in love beads and embroidery ornaments from them. They became my favorite. Yet. Because I am a Gemini by horoscope as many things as jewelry and I am fickle. Still looking for innovation, and I try to learn as much as possible :)

Together we will be able to monitor the changes in my jewelry and learn new things. It's fun to be here and interact with a soul mate. I wish everyone luck :)

I really hope you enjoy my work, waiting for your own shop :) Good luck to all.

Hi - I have a couple of young Etsy shops both focused on upcycling/recycling used books.

My first shop, anemonereadsvintage.etsy.com features vintage books

The second shop anemonereadscrafty.etsy.com upcycles awesome prints and other materials from damaged and broken books.

My plan is to continue to expand my shops with other book material products to give new life to old books, because vintage books and paper are cool.

I've been doing it for fun (I also sell pre-vintage used books online elsewhere), didn't occur to me till recently that what I'm doing is renewing, reusing and recycling :) So I'm glad to join this team!

I'm also at.....

Hi! I'm Ginger from Ginson's Farmhouse Chic!
I've had my Etsy shop just shy of a month and joined this Team about a week ago, but I've been so busy working that I haven't stopped to introduce myself!
Like many others here, I didn't realize I was an "upcycler"... I just thought I was an "Ooo! Look at that! I could turn that into a _____" kinda gal!
I use a lot of jars and bottles in my work, and I love the process of turning trash into treasures.
I look forward to meeting you in my shop!

I just added all my links, clicked "Post", then Etsy went down. :( Here we go again: I don't think I posted in the new members discussion before. I'm in a tiny hamlet on a lake in southern Ontario, Canada. Happy to be a part of this team!

Hi I'm Erik from Sky Mountain Woodcraft. I find construction materials, old doors, old windows and make furniture and other woodworking goods with them. I make meditation benches as well with free hand wood burnings on them. Whenever I have needed furniture for my home I have made it from scraps and reclaimed/upcycled stuff. It has so much more character than your typical furniture and it is fun to find and work with.

Hello everyone! My name is Shannon and I help my mother, Katy, run her shop The Old Virginian here on etsy. Basically everything she makes is upcycled from old fabirc scraps and bits and pieces of other things no one was going to use--she really enjoys giving things a new life, it's part of what fuels her passion for design and sewing. The majority of her wares at the moment are wearable art and various types of tote bags, all upcycled of course.

Some great examples of her work from her Spring Collection section:

An upcycled reversible women's waistcoat: https://www.etsy.com/listing/40535019/waistcoat-upcycled-clothing-wearable-art?ref=shop_home_feat

And her upcycled dog walking bag pet accessory: https://www.etsy.com/listing/124747990/pet-accessories-dog-walking-bag-upcycled?ref=shop_home_feat

My mom doesn't have a lot of free time to really interact with everyone here on etsy like she wants to, but I really think she needs to be a part of this group--she'd be really excited to check out everyone's shops! She and I both really love the feeling of community etsy cultivates so well and would be psyched to learn everyone elses cool upcycling ideas.

So on her behalf I say hello and I hope her and I both will become a great team member!
