May Upcycled Creativity Challenge

Upcyclers Monthly CREATIVITY Challenge:

Each month a selected shop (Judge) will choose a common upcycled medium, like a tin can, an old magazine, etc), and participants respond with photographed ideas of what they upcycled that medium into!

How to Enter:

On this discussion thread please leave a link of your upcycled entry.
Entries must come with a photo of your idea. A description or your thoughts are welcome, but your idea and shop will be share by the PHOTO LINK that you submit as an entry.

To post the photo a link onto Etsy’s discussion boards, you can do this a number of ways:
Upload the photo to a social media network... twitter, facebook, flickr, an Etsy listing, etc. Then paste the link into your entry comment.

You can also upload your photo entry on your own blog or website, and then paste the link into your entry comment on the thread.

Entries will be included in the creativity challenge’s monthly blog post (published on love2upcycle.blogspot.com/) and on our team’s social networks. This is a great way to share the upcycled love and promote your shop.


Challenge Checklist for Participants:
1. use the monthly medium to create something new
2. photograph the created idea
2. post a link to your photo on the monthly thread for an entry by the deadline
3. ALL submitted entries will be posted to our pinterest boards, and other in SM: pinterest.com/upcyclers/
4. ALL entry links will be featured in our monthly blog post, with some highlighted entry photos included as well.

We are all winners in this challenge! If you submit an upcycled idea entry for the month, then you are a winner, because all shops and their entries will be featured on our Social Networks and in our blog.

Hello everyone,
My medium for May is plastic coffee cans or creamer containers or any other plastic containers. Lids on lids off...all is wonderful!
The reason I chose it. They should be nice an easy to find and probably a fair amount of them. Well that and... my husband and I are both big coffee drinkers and my husband is hooked on the flavored creamer. My house is overflowing with these and I can always use ideas for upcycling them. :)

I can't wait to see what this creative group comes up with!

Here's another easy idea - I made a version of this with a small coffee can that I use for my spare change! Nice way to use up short ends of ribbon!

This is a tough one! I need to put my thinking cap on! I have always wanted to participate in these challenges but for what ever reason, never have. This time I'm going to do it! (I'll do my best anyway!)

I'm also addicted to those flavored coffee creamers. I go through one a week, so I'll have plenty. I love the entries so far. I'd like to try to do this month's challenge - just have to sit down and figure out what to make!

That hobbit house is adorable! Gives me an idea for a hanging bird house instead...might be a little easier.

I'm still looking for ideas for the creamer containers...I mostly found snack type storage...not much else.

I may have an idea for the creamer containers...I'll have to experiment some.
Been so gorgeous here...been doing lot's of yard work...and getting my veggies planted. Any of you like to garden?
I do have one thing I'm working on for the yard made from coffee cans....fingers crossed.

Dying to see what this group comes up with...theses challenges always amaze me!

I don't use these creamers, I only drink almond milk in my coffee ( it comes in a carton). I asked the neighbors no luck yet. Such an interesting item Patricia. Love it!!

I think I have a neat idea for both the coffee creamer container and the coffee container....I can't wait to see it it works.

I have a question. Tomorrow I'm going to be going on vacation out of state...I wanted to make this before I left, and I have everything together to make it, but I ran out of time today...too many other things going on. I want to take it with me and finish it while I'm on vacation. But I probably won't have access to a computer while I'm away, and I won't be back to post it until the morning of the 30th. That's the next-to-last day of the month. Will it be too late to post it then? If so, that's no problem. I'm just kicking myself that I didn't finish it before now! ! !

@ Laura Hi Laura. I do not think that would work. :( The cut off date is the 24th. You would have to ask Bee though. Even if you can't enter you can still share your ideas at a later date... hint hint! You have me very curious now! :)
