Does anyone read the new threads????

I posted a new thread last night asking for some advice and I haven't heard from anyone....I would really appreciate some feedback, thanks members! :) Original post:

In need of some advice. I've been selling my clothing and hats through my Rosebud Threads etsy shop, but now I would also like to sell my photography prints under my label Lucid Artz. Would you recommend that I keep using my existing Rosebud Threads shop and add a photography section? Or is it better to open a separate shop for Lucid Artz photography?

I feel it would be easier to promote just one shop, yet I've always had my photography under the name Lucid Artz (over 10yrs!).

Thanks so much for your advice! (I'm still an etsy newbie)

Re: Does anyone read the new threads????

I read this post somewhere else and thought the comments were good there.

I know that etsy is going to put out a way for us to have multiple shops on one account sometime in the future. I am way excited for that so I can have two stores that way. You may want to wait for that.

If not you could do either, the two are very different, so I don't know if I would put it in the same shop. However, with the change etsy is up to I don't know if I would start a new shop.

Whatever you do, good luck.

Re: Does anyone read the new threads????

I have a separate shop for my photography and most of the opinions I've seen are in favor of a cohesive presentation in your shop(s). That's why I have multiple shops, but it is harder to market more than one. I have a blog and Facebook fan page for each one. And I even have two Twitter accounts. But if you just relist or list on a daily basis or even two or three times a week, I've heard that's the most effective way to sell! All the social marketing is great, but getting to the top of the results for searches is the key!

PS~ Sorry no one responded to your other thread, sometimes it just takes time!

When I am shopping I like looking at different items in each shop, its kind of like a one stop shop for me. But that is my opinion.

We're in the same boat! We have different sections for different kinds of items at this time. I've been wanting to start another shop just for Barnwood furniture but wasn't sure if it was the right choice since we've gotten so far with our present shop name. Let us know how it works out and what u decide to do!

Re: Does anyone read the new threads????

I opened up this shop because my other shop (where I sell second chance craft supplies) has so many items in it the handmade stuff would have been overwhelmed and out of place. I would have gladly stayed with just one shop except for this. It is harder to promote two shops, and having to constantly sign in and out is a real pain.

BTW my other shop

Re: Does anyone read the new threads????

Thank you so much everyone for your opinions and advice!!! I really appreciate it :) I've decided to open a separate shop--it seemed weird to put the photography and paintings with clothes etc. I think a way that I will link the shops will be that I started using my photography in pendants, which I will sell in my Rosebud Threads shop and link it to my Lucid Artz shop. http://www.etsy.com/shop/LucidArtz

Thanks again everyone! (I will be adding some of your items in a treasury today)

Re: Does anyone read the new threads????

@DebUpcycles, if your computer can handle try using two browsers at a time~ I use Firefox and Chrome and sign in to two shops at once! I do that for my gmail too, one for the team and my personal main acct. to which all my separate email addresses are forwarded too!

@Rosebudthreads~ Wise choice, I think it lends more distinction and professionalism to your photography to have it in it's own shop. One thing you may not know~ Etsy does not allow drop shipping, in case you were thinking of doing that with your prints!
