Problems with items reported missing

Hi I just wondered what other peoples policies are with regards to customers reporting that they have not received their items, this has happened twice in the last 3 days!! when I have posted to the US.

Hi,
I put on my policies that post has been slow getting to the US recently. One of mine took just over 2 weeks.
They have really tightened up at customs on the US side that is really slowing everything down.
I have also been waiting for a couple of things ordered from America for a month. I`m not worried yet as they have been marked sent and I have been in contact with the seller.
I think if you keep in communication with them they will be reasured and their item will turn up soon. I don't know what time period I would wait until I offer a refund.
I have also learned to get a tracking number for items shipped to USA now.

Oh, the recent snow over there might also be a factor.

Thank you that is a great help :-) I will put something up to that effect - just another question - with the tracking number how do you go about this and is it costly to the US?

It took 4 weeks to receive a parcel from the US. Be careful with some people though. Some claim that they haven't received their package and kick-up a fuss. If you didn't use a tracking number then Royal Mail only tell you after that a postal receipt isn't enough and that you have to refund your customer!!

Thank you it is difficult because for smaller value items it is hardly worth the extra cost :-( that tracking entails
