How to make felt smooth (not fuzzy) ?

Hello everyone,

I practice needle felting for half a year already and seems like all my felted stuffs are fuzzy/fluffy (even with wet felting!). I would like to learn how to make a smooth surface felt, as least not so fuzzy.
Anyone have any tips on doing so?

The tighter packed the felt is, the firmer it is and thus less fuzzy. Also you can try using a single needle horizontally against the edge of your felting project, remembering that the way to stop the fuzzy appearance is to tangle the loose fibres that are poking out, into the project. As a last resort you can trim off and stubborn oose fibres.

Thank you for the advice.
I tried trimming off some of fibres as well but still look fuzzy.
I think I need a lot more practice. Maybe it depends on the type of fibre as well?

I think the only way to get a perfectly smooth finish, without any fuzz, would be to either use a felting machine, or to go over with soapy hot water very, very slowly and carefully...

It can depend on the type of fibre, I find that the straighter fibres don't felt quite so flat as they don't tangle so easily (but they do feel a lot softer!)
