Thinking outside the cup

I love tea--black tea, green tea, white tea, red tea, herbal teas, hot tea and iced tea. However, I'm wondering how many of you put it to other uses in addition to drinking. All of our tea leaves go into compost. I know that tea can be used in cooking--any good recipes? Tea makes a wonderful dye http://www.etsy.com/listing/75983853/hibiscus-tea-chiffon-scarf

and...what else?

carolineart....yes tea makes an excellent dye....natural too! I have used it many times to dye muslin for sewing as a liner or whatnot!

Again using tea as a tool!

My latest blog entry is about having upcycled an odd trash find into a one-of-a-kind jewelry display for shows (and is probably the most upbeat story about having discovered a headless/limbless torso in a dumpster that you’ll ever read).

Re: Thinking outside the cup

Have you ever taken a green tea bag and chilled it after you brew it. Then you take the chilled tea bags and set them on your eyes. Green tea is especially good for the skin and will help bags under the eyes. I actually make "eyesavers" with herb tea bags that impart the same properties, but you can use your green tea and herb tea bags and in many cases to do the same.
