Drought and Hay Shortage

Hi,

Since this summer has been an extremely dry summer for hay, and I am worried about our horses and horse friends who are searching for hay, Would anyone like to post up areas and places other horse owners can find some hay!!

If you google hay for sale or hay boards there are several forum boards where hay sellers list when they harvest..

Just joined the team, I'm not familiar with your area of WI but here in Texas its horrible, Hay to feed my animals costs almost $1,000 a month or more .we have a Hay Hotline here in Texas which is an opportunity for farmers and ranchers to locate forage during this hot dry summers. The Texas Department of Agriculture reactivated it again.

We are still haying here in Central NY. In fact we have a field down now and I think we are baling tomorrow. Not sure just yet if we have extra. Still have 3 more large fields to bale. And that is still 1st cut. Still have 2nd cut to do. Some horse hay and some cow hay.
But I would say if desperate... can convo me and I can let you know at the end of August if we have extra to sell.
