Spent over an hour at our Wireless Provider's Store this morning. A dumb-phone owner, I have never felt the need to be connected to everyone I know, and then some, on a 24/7/365 basis & prefer shopping here or anywhere on-line using my laptop. Ah, but my simple but satisfactory flip-phone that have owned for @ 8 years was only 3G. Our cell provider is already beginning to update towers & service to the much awaited 5G service. We were warned 3G will not step up to 5G. 4G phones can take the leap, but 3G will fade into the dust of those vintage bag/analog phones.
Our old reliable phone now in a drawer awaiting donation to a women's shelter (given out for dialing 911) & am hoping this new phone will give as many years of service. Yeah, got a very basic smart phone thinking the gps & camera nice features to have.
So, if you too are still hanging on to that older but much liked flip phone, do check out its capabilities as it appears 5G coming faster than I would have guessed, even to our more rural area.
our phone is very basic. it has a curlyque cord, plugs into the wall, has a dial tone and and push buttons. that is as, 'smart', as i'm willing for a phone to be. good luck with your new gadget.
Yes! We still have a land line since our cell service is "okay" but has about 50/50 odds of receiving a call if the cell phone literally inside the house. But for our travels a cell phone is good for staying in touch & since there are no pay phones anymore, if a problem comes up it's nice to have that little bit of 'insurance'.
I wonder is the letter G is compatible with my home telephone...
