Nothing in Particular Thread

It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular.  It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.

You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.

Thoughts?

Foggy morning and raining too, better stay in, keep my head and work away. No taking my clay thingies outside for drying today though, loved the breeze blowing and sun shining that helped to dry them faster.

@vlmkpyae Been working on new project - clay thingies ^^ Good start, have already sold a few =]  Quite a lot of work but can be very creative, getting into it now, it was not easy when I first started, felt like crying LOL but I pushed through it.

Rain has stopped and sun has come back out for a bit, it's sunset now.

Hey all...don't know if you read Tech Issues but I experienced one of the post last night. And I posted one also.

They've changed the Descriptions AGAIN. No longer is there the 'beginning' of your description shown. Instead under Item Details in tiny print that says 'Read full description' and when you click on it a side bar pops up to the right with the description.

Just one more way the potential buyer is not gonna read the description...instead they'll just think we didn't write one for the item. I foresee our Message box from buyers to sky rocket...or they'll just move on without buying. Once again, the Ebay wannabe strikes our shops and our bottom line.

I don't understand why E would do that.

If the buyer can't see a description, they probably won't buy and E will lose $$.

@SewNSewSister Oh I only just noticed and have posted in the main forum. Yes I had to LOOK for the description, some buyers might miss it altogether and might buy without reading the information. Potential problems.

Yes, what you said @Artbesico - it took me forever just to find the 'read full description' ! What a PITA and so dumb. At the very least they could make the read description BOLD or white on a black bar so it's noticeable. Gah.

Does anyone remember the explanation for changing the review stars from yellow to black? E said it was to "help the sight impaired." So how does hiding the description help?!

@ElizabethRosenArt When I went back to look it up again, I had to look a few times before I could find where to click for the full description, so easy to miss since it's plain text and has no expand handle visible to click on. The "Read full description" is in smaller text too = |

Due to the annoying change, if I manage to list anything, the second photo will be an image of text that describes the listing.  Ridiculous.  As a buyer, I was already annoyed that I had to click to see the full description, and that sellers often lack important information in that description, as it is.  It's frustrating when a seller presumes the buyer already knows things.  Like copper cookie cutters.  The old ones aren't copper material, just copper color, for example.

If this stupid new description thing does turn out to be permanent, then there will prob be lots of " not as described " cases?

Oh I think we are in for some serious probs with buyers. Flooding our inboxes for one thing (and we have to answer EVERY one of them within 24 hours or we get dinged/slapped by E). And I bet they won't all be asking for info...we'll probably also get a tongue lashing for not providing the description...wanna bet?

And you're right Lion...they can claim 'not as described' to demand a refund and/or leave a damaging Review.

After reading a lot of the posts in forums I believe it's true that this is just one more step for E in their Ebay wannabe quest. Ebay has this already implemented on their listings.

As I already posted in my Description thread it is just getting more and more difficult to sell here. But we will do what we always do...roll over, say 'yessir' and carry on with hopes it doesn't ruin our shop reputation and drive us out of business.

This afternoon when I needed a few supplies, this hidden description thing was active. I just checked, and the full description is back for me again @SewNSewSister . Think they'll just turn it on and off and on and off to confuse all buyers always?

Seems like every day we wake up to some new nightmare that affects our shops. It's very stressful.

Speaking of nightmares, I had a bad dream last night. It's hard to describe in any detail, but I kept going from room to room, endlessly, where awful stuff was happening, and just when I thought I was escaping to freedom I ended up in another frightening/disturbing room. I felt like I was viewing myself going through this, as I slept, but I couldn't wake up. Then suddenly I woke up, after about 5-1/2 hours sleep, wide awake.....which is rare for me, I usually wake up groggy. I had such an unreal feeling for a few moments that I began to wonder if I was still in a dream, or I was going to fall back into it. Scary stuff!

@psych62. I feel badly for you girl. It is scary for sure.

Did you take a different med/pill just a couple hours before bed? Or did you eat anything before going to bed. Or maybe drink something caffeinated? Any of these things can cause a person to dream. Really.

@psych62 That sounds frightening and disturbing indeed. I have a recurring dream like that too, running around in the street trying to find my car or running around a shopping mall building trying to find the toilet or the exit. Another one is chaos everywhere and bad people or monsters chasing after people.

@psych62  Yikes.  I used to have bad dreams, and nightmares, all the time, but now I can't remember my dreams like I used to.  My brain is slowly breaking down.  I know I had a very bad 2 nights ago, but I can't remember it.  I'm actually upset I can no longer remember my dreams due to what it implies, but I don't miss dealing with the aftermath of a bad dream.

I know Ebay has its own list of problems and I have experienced some of them, but geesh, Etsy has some really big ones; The star badge that everyone was talking about? Almost every seller I click on has a star badge already- that didn't take long. Now the description problem. And before that there was the banner that had been shortened. .... and on and on!

i guess if I have a question, it would be ; Why are all of you still here and so loyal? Etsy just screwed up a convo I sent within the past hour...GRRR!
