It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular.  It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.

You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.

Thoughts?

Not at all, I treat myself once a month to a food delivery or take out from the expensive Chinese food resturant in town.

You deserve it.

The problem with eating takeaway food is that I get a stomach ache after eating.

Nothing wrong with takeout! We have it about twice a month (either Chinese or Italian). Sometimes, you just don't feel like cooking!

@psych62 I don't feel like cooking most of the time lately and every time I cooked recently I didn't want to eat it. I'm a hit and miss cook, lately it's all been misses.

@Artbesico I order shrimp fried rice, sesame chicken, general tso chicken, peanut noodles with chicken or chicken egg foo young.  I love all the food at the resturant.

@MilaSmilasDogClothes oh all sound delicious =P I don't think I've ever tried general tso chicken though, I just googled, it looks a bit like sweet & sour chicken.

I ordered Indian, mixed grilled platter with chips. Their naan bread is yummy =P

The ingredients are similar, but general tso chicken has more vegetables and is a little spicy.  I tell them to go easy on the spice.

I've never had Indian food.  I hear it's really spicy.

@MilaSmilasDogClothes Indian food is very spicy yes, they are all about spices. I used to work in a company that was owned by a British Indian and there were a few British Indian colleagues. We had a end of the month meal event and mostly we had Indian food. That got me into Indian and Turkish food. I've grown to like it =]

@Art. I agree with you on the stomach ache part. I've ordered 'out' a couple times since the Pan. Not caring for the quality and cost. Guess what I'm saying is I just don't trust the way the food is prepared. Why should they go out of their way to practice hygiene (nobody looking over their shoulder) both with food prep and themselves when they don't have to see the customer sitting down and unwrapping it? I may not eat fancy but I make myself cook.

@SewNSewSister

Agree . My nurse friend and I think the same.

I think ordering take out is different than eating at restaurant . Less supervision as to safe handling i guess?

and @Artbesico Good morning.  I couldn't find out exactly, but I read some time ago, either way, the Buddhist monks or the Hare Krishnas don't eat in restaurants, because in their believe, the cook's negative energy jumps to the food they prepare, they they receive it when eating the food.  A negative energy could be a bad thought, intention, hate, dislike of the job. So, they believe that bad feeling can go into the food they are preparing

@SewNSewSister I don't think it's food hygiene issue why I have stomach ache, it's more like grease, oil, spice.

Also I was too hungry then ate, not good for stomach.

There is a great Chinese place fairly close to us that serves very "clean" food: mostly low-fat and heart-healthy and no msg! I usually either get their Wor Won Ton soup or steamed chicken with mixed vegetables (brown sauce on the side). Hubs likes their Orange Chicken and you can order it low, medium, or high spicy. All their spicy dishes are like that: you can order the level you want.

@psych62 Oh that sounds great, I often find takeaway food too spicy hot, too salty and a lot of msg, makes me really thirsty.

Uh-oh... I guess I'm on my own here. Not only do I eat take-out but I'm a life-long lover of NYC street food. Just last night, I had lamb over rice with salad from a local food truck... delicious! As far as getting sick goes, I think the last time I got sick from food was in the 1970s after having McDonald's french fries. Never quite figured out why that happened. I've had them since then and they didn't bother me at all.

@GielDesigns Lamb over rice with salad sounds good, street food is delicious, they smell great for a start, it reminds me of the smell of onions from a hotdog street vendor, it draws you to buy one from them =]

@Artbesico  I don't know how true it could be. One day, a cook told me, "Love is the main ingredient when you are cooking." There are restaurants where the customers have a great view to the kitchen. And sometimes, the cook's bad mood is super noticeable.
