It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular.  It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.

You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.

Thoughts?

@GielDesigns . cable guy says nail guns are the worst culprits for this. any time they get an isolated outage call they know it is fried modem or sliced cable...

@philosophiacreations . at least the cable guy found it and fixed it in 20 minutes.

@ElizabethRosenArt . it's a long stary that starts in november of 2016. there was an insane neighbor upstairs who threw a rock through our next door elderly neighbor's window, barely missing him, his dog, and his baby grandchild. i was online when it happened. a dark, rainy night, loud breaking glass only inches from our door. our neighbor had a jewish sounding name so i don't need to say more. i had nighmares for months. i have been unwilling to go outside 90 percent of the time since this happened. i did not get over it, to this day.

in any normal place he would have been arrested and evicted. he was catch and release arrested about 3 times a week to the point the cops were tired of it. he put live rats into the walls. i kid you not, trust me, we heard them. the court case kept getting delayed and delayed...

it took until january of last year for him to finally be evicted and gone. horribly they also evicted our dying senior neighbor and dog as well. don't get me started. we lived in terror for all that time before rockthrower was finally gone. he finally got jail jailed for good but we lost our terrified old frail neighbor who was made homeless by this even though he was the victim. ll felt both tenants should leave so she could replace them. upstairs got a retired veteran, no problem. but next door's replacement last year of our 16 year long neighbor, well...

jump to now. said walls, ceiling, etc. of the unit next to us, vacant again after a second eviction recently of the yet another bad tenant, are being literally ripped apart, gutting the entire unit. bugs are fleeing, terminex will come after the repairs are completed. so the guys doing the work are not being careful, ie how they nicked the cable and took out the internet, but have been informed of what they did. all we can do is pray they don't do this again and that we get a better new neighbor next time!

Wowza woman!! You guys have been through it, as have your neighbors. I hope the dust (and critters) settle down/leave and you two can exhale soon. Feel so sad for your older neighbor and his dog. Hopefully, as you mentioned a Grandchild, he has family nearby.

@BeadArtistrybyMarian . thank you. we hope so too.

@ElizabethRosenArt . i stood in the doorway looking down at all that broken glass everywhere in the rainy dark night and something just broke in me. my ancestors left europe long before the 1930's but i feel the history and i'm sure i have distant cousins over there somewhere.

i still jump even at the sound of glass tapping, not even breaking, this much later. i know the perp is gone consciously but...

with luck the landlady will become pickier about who she rents to. we have been here the longest, almost 18 years. i'm trying to focus on my upcoming crafts projects. 4 of those microscopic rhinestones will become eyes for the pair of tiny ocean glass blue sea turtles, that are technically beads but i'm not beading with them, that arrived today. the lady who makes wings is going to make me a custom listing pretty soon. she is swamped and i told her not to rush. she has 28 orders to complete! gah! i couldn't do that pace.

i have to focus on shadow walking again. his setback has me hopping.

after two hellacious days shadow finally made it to hobbling to the front room after his new chair arrived. his old one lasted 3 years. it took him hours to get to where he could take a bath, then hours in the bath, then about an hour to get out on the third try. we have the knee wrapped and he has been resting the greater part of 2 days as they tear apart the apartment next door, loudly. this morning it was like an ongoing intermittent earthquake. they said they would try not to kill the internet by nicking the cable again the way they did yesterday.

otoh, my little package from canada only took a week! it was mailed may 2 and got here this morning, may 9. not sure if that is a record or not. it was due by the 16th.

They are the blossoms of the flowering mayday tree.  They are very pretty, but very stinky.  And they get me aaaallll stuffed up.

They are a type of berry blossom, but not a cherry blossom.  The berries are black and ornamental.

It snows in Canada every single week all through the year...  or so I have heard :)
