Nothing in Particular Thread

It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular.  It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.

You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.

Thoughts?

I know.  I use a touch pad, but sometimes the touch pad can be touchy.

my mouse was not tweakable. i had to pull out my spare mouse of a different brand. and then i had to order a new spare so i'm not out a mouse when one dies. thing is the dead one was newer and it screwed up. i went to complain but got the dogs of amazon page instead. :( so we know what happened with that mouse. sigh.

hey!  How do I send a convo to someone now?  I went to send one and I see I get this pop up conversation window.  What is going on here?

pigeon, they changed it many weeks ago. you have 2 choices. you can type briefly into the chat box thing, ask the person to convo you, and hit enter and it sends. then they get it as a normal email and convo and they reply normally. or you can go to your convos page and try to manually type in the person's name and convo them that way.

the new contact a seller setup is something evvvvverybody has been complaining about since it started, as i said, many weeks ago. surprised you haven't see in before. it's awful. buyers are fooled into thinking they are on a stupid chat with the seller, live. then they get upset because nobody is there. oh, and you cannot make paragraphs. the second you hit the enter key it sends.

Based on the messages I usually get, paragraphs are a foreign concept nowadays. It's a pain for me because I'm "old school" and now have to be really careful with that enter key.

It is confusing, they make it like it's a live chat box but it isn't. I don't understand the purpose of that little pop up at the bottom of the screen, all it does is popping up then disappear. The message goes to the usual Convo anyway. So I suppose the pop up acts like a notification but why make it look like a instant chat when it is not? That's why it's confusing.

Haven't seen it yet but boy, is that dumb! At least Etsy hasn't done away with the original format, which I'm surprised they haven't done because they seem to be forever "improving" things (mostly for sellers).

It's a bit annoying !!!!   Usually , when you hit the "enter" key, you start a new line !  With the new initial convo …. it will send it off instead !  

I figured it out / but the first person or two probably thought I had too much to drink or something when they got my chopped up conversation :D

thanks, psych. i didn't enlarge it to see it better. i nuked a spammer recently. things have been hectic. i'm waiting on a package but otherwise i'm not buying. i'm not seeing many upvotes in my notices so i'm not knowing when things are updating on here. i upvote just about everybody every time i think about it. i'm spending far less time on etsy.

I'm unable to post in the What's For Dinner thread. I get a red circle with a red diagonal line across it and a message "unable to complete the action you requested." What gives? Haven't tried other threads. I've tried several places along that thread though, starting from the bottom, and I get the same icon/message. Hmmmmm…………..
