It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular. It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.
You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.
Thoughts?
is this thing on? there have been no posts... : (
Hi Sill. Been working/sewing. Will try and get back on tonight.
Hi, Sill! I've been working too but trying to do it with a headache. Gratefully, the throbbing has finally gone away. I think I was a bit dehydrated. Did you ever get your pictures loaded? There seem to be so many glitches going on here nowadays.
gerri, i hope you feel better soon.
yes, just now i did. took 4 tries before i could upload the pic! some of her listings say no longer available and her shop has been temporarily shut by etsy for late shipping.
i have a feeling she's in trouble.
A police officer radios in to the station.
'Sarge, we have a situation here'.
'Yes? Go ahead' comes back the answer.
'A woman has shot her husband for stepping on the floor she just mopped clean.'
'Have you arrested the woman?'
'No sir. The floor is still wet.'
lol. funny, mary. was this supposed to be on the joke thread? lol.
Whoops...please transfer for me Sill. Glad you liked it girl.
it is ccp cross posted, mary.
i made 3 posts recently asking questions that got no replies from anybody and i wondered why.
the photo upload was a glitch that seems fixed but the other two...
I went back to my Past Purchases to buy from some sellers from a couple years back, I was saddened to see that some of them have been on a "short break" for a long time. So sad (and frustrated). Why do shops do that? A shop that has been on "short break" for 2-3 years ought to close up.
some were shut down by etsy. that is what i have read. besides, they can always decide to come back. maybe they have a reason to be away that we don't know. work, medical, who knows?
Like Sill just said. Maybe E shut them down, illness or death, and maybe they just lost interest in running their shop...and just forgot to close it period. There is always a reason when a shop is on a longgg vacation.
On another note, I am shopping for craft kits, and I noticed that many of these sellers are from the UK, plus they have some of the best! What makes UK people so crafty, lol? I really like many of them, but for some, the shipping is prohibitive.
prayer for the people and animals in the path of fiona.
shopping or fishing or something... my friend, ozmadoll, who does not sell critters found these at a flea market and knew i'd want them.

Hi everyone! Hope you all are doing well.
I need step by step instructions on how to not sign up with Plaid. It's freaking me out.
All i see in the forums is to click on manual verification. But i don't know how to get there .
Can someone tell me the exact steps? Talk to me like i'm a 5 yr old.
Thanks for any help.
Sorry girl I can't help with that...I haven't gotten my email yet to verify bank info.. Lemme know when YOU find out please. Get over to the forums is best advice.
Gee, I can hardly wait to go thru that process!@&%$@
Hi Lion :- )
I did the manual verification a couple of weeks ago. When you go to your finance page, click to verify with Plaid. A pop-up will ask for your bank account number. Once you enter it, the next step will give you the choice between instant and manual verification. After I clicked manual, it asked for my bank's routing number then asked for my account number again. (I think it might have asked for my name too but I'm drawing a blank on that right now.) Anyway, it should then give you the info about sending test deposits to your account. I checked my account after a couple of days and there were 2 deposits from Etsy followed by 2 withdrawals of the same amount. I went back to the finance page and entered the amounts, and my account was instantly verified. They didn't hold my funds at all.
That said, some people are running into the same problem I ran into at first. I entered my account number and it said the number was not what Etsy had on file. I read in the forum that if you enter the wrong number more than twice, the system will lock you out or suspend your shop. At that point you would have to contact Etsy. But also, I read that if you DO enter it incorrectly twice, you should wait 24 hours before trying again. Supposably it resets during that time and you should be okay for another 2 tries. Fortunately, my third attempt went through on day 2. It finally "took" when I entered it with all of the extra zeros that appear on my bank statement. I'm guessing that's how I entered it when I first signed up. I didn't put those in on my first couple of tries.
As for the other problems and issues people are having, here's my take. I think Etsy gave blanket info on this and it's caused some confusion. Apparently you may have to enter 1 deposit amount, 2 deposit amounts, or a code for the verification. Different people have had to do different things and I think that boils down to who you bank with. The instructions for what you actually have to enter will be on the page where you have to enter it. I think that link appears on the finance page several hours after you complete the forms. As I said, I waited 2 days before I even checked my account for the deposits so the link was already there when I went back to the finance page.
Bottom line, if you get past entering the correct account number, you should be in good shape. My best advice is don't worry about all those other glitches people are talking about in the forum unless they actually happen to you.
Oh, and I hope all of that made sense. Happy to clarify if needed.
@SewNSewSister I posted in forums also and heres the thread. I'm on page 38.

1 important thing that im sure everyone knows is that banks say to NEVER give out your user id & bank password.
I put my shop on vacay . This is just wrong of Etsy to do this. What the frack were they thinking?
They have their head in an unpleasant place.
I will let you know how i did with the manual verification.
@GielDesigns Oh thanks so much. Very much appreciated! hugs.
I did it! Whew. Sewnsew sister. I can help you with this if you get stuck.
I guess now i have to wait for the deposits to show up in my finance section here and enter amounts.
Jeez- what a freaking mess they are putting on us.
It doesn't seem legal because they're asking for id and password . Some people may not know they shouldnt be giving that out.
