It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular.  It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.

You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.

Thoughts?

Good luck with the surgery and hoping for a speedy recovery for Mila, Cathy. We have 3 large dogs (a Weimaraner and two Llewellyns) so even the thought of keeping a dog on the ground for any length of time is daunting! (They are airborne even indoors most of the time) Hope you all are good to go soon :)) @MilaSmilasDogClothes

@psych62 thanks.  Me too.  The surgeon says that since she is just over 50 pounds the injury is recent( so osteoarthritis hasn't started yet) so we could see a complete recovery.

What to do? Put shop on vacay or deactivate listings? I've read deactivation is better for some reason?

I can't take the stress of dreading a sale, worrying if it will arrive late or at all. Possibly getting complaints and / or bad reviews.

I've been crying these past few days over it.

Please no snarky comments .

I have always just put my shop on vacation.  It takes a week or two for views to pick up afterward, but I always thought it was the best way.

Just my opinion.  I know some would rather deactivate an item.

Oh Lion I can relate so very much girl. The stress of running a shop during the Pan has affected the majority of us for sure.

Think of your shop this way...if you deactivate listings you have an empty shop (nothing to view) but still looks like your're open for business. If you go to vaca mode you also have an empty shop AND when you get off vaca like Mila said it will take at least a couple weeks for views to re-start again. Other sellers I've talked with and thru observations it seems vaca is what so many prefer.

I wish I could go on vaca and relieve some of the stress just like you do. The stress is aging me faster than this darn Pan. But when my husband passed I was left with no money (for 4 years all monies went to his care). My nursing only helps a little. So it's SS and small pension for me. I need the little I get from my E shop. As that old saying goes, 'that that doesn't kill us makes us stronger'. Genuine hugs to you and blessings.

@Lionfishvintage  If you deactivate your shop will appear to empty and inactive.  If you go on vacay your followers will know that you are just taking a break and that your items are still there and will return.

Please try not to stress over this - I know, easier said than done.  Keep your immune system up and try to stay positive ♥.

On a lighter note - I constantly see people in the forums using the word 'snark',  I didn't know exactly what it meant, so I looked it up.  By definition it is...

(noun) A mysterious, imaginary animal.

I could now use a little 'snark' in my life...lol!

@vlmkpyae  Lol!  I kind of guessed - it's just that now knowing what Websters has to say, I just can't bring myself to use it in the derogatory/forum way any more.  Going to have to think of another word for sarcasm/snide combined... sarsni? sarcide? snidecasm? :}

@Lionfishvintage I'm so sorry you're feeling like you need to shut shop! So, just shipping status from another seller- I'm still mailing a few things almost every day (and have throughout the pandemic from Brooklyn- super hard hit), and have yet to experience any significant delay. I did change my outgoing message to say there could potentially be a delay due to the pandemic, but I'll keep my eye on tracking, and thank you in advance for your patience. My own purchases are running about a day or two later than usual for delivery. USPS tracking confirmed that in all cases. Obviously your call, and whatever makes you stress less :)) but just to know- it's not quite as bad universally as reflected in the main forum.

@Lionfishvintage I totally understand how stressful this is. I've had no sale for over 2 weeks now, this is from having frequent sales for over 3 months. It just come to a sudden stop from end of July.

I'm trying to stop figuring out why and distract myself by putting my focus on other things.

Other sellers are saying Summer months are usually quiet so hopefully we can see things starting to pick up after August.

@Artbesico July and August can be a gift if things slow down, to start prepping for the holidays. Though it's hard to wrap your head around Christmas in August! What is your busiest time of year historically?

@ElizabethRosenArt Indeed it is not easy to think about Christmas in August.

I don't really have a clear picture of what is the busiest time of the year for me, sales have always been few and far between. The few months during lockdown this year have been the busiest so far.

@Lionfishvintage I am feeling a bit like that kitten this morning.  I'm looking forward to the weekend and sleeping in later than 4:00am.

I'll keep everyone posted after the surgery.  My employeer let me move some vacation days around so I'll be able to stay home for three days after her surgery.
