It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular. It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.
You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.
Thoughts?
art, remember the micro victorian house model? after 2 false starts with bad paint i finally got started painting a base coat on it of white. i'm allergic to real primer so i'm using 3 coats of white paint. i have my pallette, my micro brushes, my very adult, lol, crayola paints i'm not allergic to, yay. i just need to focus! it has been very very bright in the daytime, i mysteriously hurt my foot, and i'm hoping painting will take my mind off things. i may not be able to do a proper haunted house but it will be in shades of purples.
@vlmkpyae a micro victorian haunted house... how cool is that =D You getting ready for Halloween? =]
art, it may not become haunted. it's taking a lot of work to paint. it is 6 1/2 inches tall and very detailed. sold by gold rush bay on etsy. he is also on his own site and on amazon. he's an architect in san francisco. the house is one of his 3d printed miniatures. it opens and it's like a micro dollhouse. i have painted the back and half of one side so far, and half of the foundation, and a quick down and dirty wash of black on a side of the chimney. the house depicts those built in the 1890's barbary coast era, aka the gold rush. it is small enough it is onmy computer to cure the paint. 2 coats white like a primer and then 2 coats of a bluish purplish mauve as the main house color. not decided on my trims and accents yet. it has a zillion windows.
@vlmkpyae I went to take a look at it, the house is amazing. I've always had this idea of making miniature wood houses and paint them, I envy the architectural designer =] The gazebo/bandstand is amazing too. Is plastic quite difficult to paint?
art, yes it is, very. i'm not sanding it because i don't want to lose details. i'm working non toxic and it's the hard way but i have to keep breathing. go to youtube and type in gold rush bay. he shows his micro 3d houses, and a tour of a real house that inspired him. on his website he has many other models. the painted ladies, the station, the saloon... you'd enjoy it. he is what my mother calls an old soul.
i found my, 'good', brushes. well, they used to be. apparently at some point mausi had gotten ahold of them... i have ordered new good brushes and a bottle of gold metallic paint to do accents. i have the 14mm clawfoot tub i have to paint a faucet on for one thing... i may do the balcony railings gold too...
@vlmkpyae That's amazing =D I particularly like the one made in wood =]
Chillax, man! Chillax.
Another new word that I've learnt recently, from a buyer, was... kewlio
You've got me on that one.
@pigeonplumtree Apparently it's a cooler way of spelling coolio. a cute way to say cool ^^
I'm gonna put that on some of my art work =]
Just found this thread thanks to an old Etsier that I used to chat with on the old forums.
I'm a grouchy, negative person, so be warned.
And please do not ever say, "I hope you are feeling better" to me. What I have, doesn't get better. I know it's well meant though, I'm just trying to get people to understand is all.
I've got a headache today from consuming bad stuff the last few days. I'm eating clean today but I did have a zero sugar drink this morning, unfortunately. I'm hungry so I'm about to eat some chicken I made yesterday, that is just so-so. There's a pork roast in the slow cooker that I hope to cut up and have some of that with taco seasoning tonight.
It's too dark to take pictures today so I'm using that as an excuse not to take pictures. I'd like to list some stuff but it's so energy draining.
Okay, hunger won out, I'm off to eat.
hi, darcy. i hope you are coping ok. i know about chronic pain and such. no, it doesn't get better but some days are less awful. the anorexic is reminding you that eating makes it at least a little better than starving. have a nice meal.
I've been bored lately. I've played the few computer games I like to the point of tedium. Nothing to watch.
The roast smells good and is keeping me thinking about food.
Can't find anymore things to watch on YouTube.
Solitaire it is.
Hi @Darcy777 which computer games do you play?
The smell of roast I like =] I like the smell of BBQ too, the thought of it makes me hungry now too ^^
Hi Arbesico,
I like to play city building games but not modern cities. The problem with them though is that the game is slow moving. I liked Banished, PlanetBase, I loved the Westward series except that it was pretty much done once you went through all the quests. I liked Ranch Rush 1 & 2 okay. I liked the Kingdom Rush series and I liked Cursed Treasure 2.
I absolutely love the smell of onions when cooking a roast.
@Darcy777 I've played a farm game some years ago, it was quite addictive and I finally stopped playing when I found that it started to take up too much time =]
Smell of onions... that makes me think of those hot dog stands, makes me hungry now =D
Had some of the pork roast with some melted cheese on the side. I was too hungry to wait for the cheese to set up like a cracker. The pork was a bit dry so I guess I over cooked it. The time I used was perfect for a beef roast, to my liking.
It's actually cool in the house. It's been over cast all day and rained most of last night and this morning. I prefer being cool over being warm. I may have to add a blanket to the bed for tonight.
I'm glad they added the ability to edit. I'm a master at typos.
It's been raining quite a lot lately here too, feels a lot cooler this morning.
I often over roast, temperature too high and roasting too long.
Having to log in each time seems archaic.
Raining again today. I had a pleasant night but it didn't have that slight chill I was expecting.
I'm reheating some chicken wings I cooked the other day. I'm doing a slow, stove top type of reheating. They are just plain so nothing to get excited about. I've decided the expense of chicken wings isn't worth it. I don't see them as any better than thighs or legs.
It's too dark to take pictures but I should try and organize my brain and the projects for when I can take pictures.
Does anyone by those small thank you cards, the size of business cards, to include in their shipments anymore like they used to back in 2006?
HI Darcy. I still include a small Hallmark Thank You card with every shipped order. In a lot of my reviews the buyers mention how much they appreciate this personal side of doing business. I will never stop doing this. Not just because it pleases my buyers, but because I was raised with the belief a Thank You card is always appropriate when someone does something nice for you. Sometimes those 'old fashion notions' never go out of style!
@Darcy777 Chicken wings are good for BBQ =]
I now put a mini thank you flat card inside the package, just a small gesture of saying thank you to the buyer, it has the shop link printed on it under the graphic thank you but the back is blank so buyer can write on the back of the card and use it as a thank you card =]
@SewNSewSister I do custom made thank you cards, had a seller/buyer who bought a batch of cats and dogs themed thank you cards and tags for her shop =]
Hey Darcy ~ those tags are pretty easy to find on Etsy. Type it in search and see what you come up with. I usually check on Turquoise Dreaming and It's Your Country. Your friend from old forums makes some great tags, but darn, I can't think of her ID.
wish you were making soap again.....🤞🏻
Oh boy do I wish I could make soap again. For myself. I'd be afraid to try and sell it without insurance and there is so much competition but I also would sell mine less that the average price I see here. Yikes.
My hair clogs the vacuum cleaner. :(
