It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular. It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.
You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.
Thoughts?
@pigeonplumtree They are always fast to jump right in, I think they are watching their screen 24/7.
@vlmkpyae What is an iggy button? =O .
art, iggy, as in ignore or mute button. every other board/forum, etc online has that option so people who don't like each other don't have to see posts that will bother them and trigger flame wars. i had over 300 trolls blocked on disqus. i had a bunch muted on yahoo, the old amazon boards, etc. the reason boards have them is to keep the peace. however, this board on lithium is not like that because it was designed for use by company employees, ie people who all have to work together, not casual chatters. that is why this setup is so bassackwards for a site like this.
@vlmkpyae mute as in like blocking?
art, yes. as in you don't see any posts of a person's because they are no longer visible to you. that is either called mute or ignore depending on the board's terminology. on goodreads it shows a blurb. 'you are not seeing this person's posts because you have chosen to ignore them.' and then you have to remember which person it was... lol.
@Artbesico Hi Art, Yes I am working on ornaments, was hoping to have most finished by Sept. 1, but.....life happens!!
@Former_Member I'm always running late on festive listings, probably hesitating too much to list.
Painted. I just went to your shop and fav'd. It is sooo cute!
Had intended to start work on Christmas stuff by now...and you're right...life happens!
@SewNSewSister Thank you!! I love to paint all the wooden items. Just not enough time!! Of course I could NOT dust, sweep, dishes, laundry, yard work, etc!! THEN I would have lots of time!!

Greedy Greg grabbed the green grapes!
I used to like green grapes, later tried red grapes and then I switched to black grapes. I love seedless black grapes, I just had some the other day, big firm sweet juicy ones, so good. The portion though is getting smaller, they are selling them at £1 a portion. about a small bunch and a half.
Is greedy greg related to bob the boob?
I kinda miss ole Bob.
@FinchvilleRoad yeah, bob was cool...........ya know, for a boob
I miss the phantom limb...
A few minutes after I went to bed last night, I saw a suspicious looking lump in the shadows on the ceiling so I turned the light on and sure enough an evil spider was crawling around above my bed.
I got a load of kitchen roll, grabbed, squashed and ran to the bin then could barely sleep for the rest of the night as I wasn't sure I'd actually got it or if there were more.......waiting
This morning I got up, did the usual stuff and after a few minutes saw a squashed spider on the floor. I'm not sure if it's the one from last night that either didn't make it to the bin, or did and climbed back out or if it's a different spider that I trod on this morning, but as I'm barefoot I think I would notice......wouldn't I?!
OMG, they're EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!
Eww... barefoot spider squash!
most likely it was a single spider.
Spiders don't like the smell of peppermint. You can buy a small bottle at Walmart, put some in a spray bottle and spray around windows and doors. The smell does fade but it really does work!
I love spiders. Spiders are our friends. They eat the bad guys that carry disease like mosquitoes, flies, etc.
And that said--just to make you feel better it is said that there are so many spiders in the world that during your entire lifetime you are never more than 3 feet from a spider. :-)
I saw a big one in my basement the other day.
My brother always says the "3 feet" thing about spiders too, lol. I think he repeats it because he doesn't like them and the idea creeps him out. As for me, I don't mind them. When I see a one, I try to trap it and put it outside rather than kill it.
@GielDesigns I like them too--they do so much good. I usually just leave them alone unless they are in some inconvient place like the sink or something--then I too trap them and take outside.
