Nothing in Particular Thread

It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular.  It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.

You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.

Thoughts?

@psych62 @vlmkpyae  Pretty sure the new rollout will only be for active shop owners. I read somewhere that buyers won't be able to read the forum any longer. Not sure about all of that as you both know how much misinformation gets tossed around! If I felt like there were people who would actively participate, I would give it a go, but I'm feeling like everyone has sort of left the room? By the way- so sorry to hear about your husband Psych- strength and love to you both...

we already can only read the bugs forum and announcements now.

plus they want a money based setup for teams not chatting so it it the moral antithesis of this team anyway. all etsy ever cared about was money not people.

many times i almost quit but i stayed because i've been running this team alone for years.  it is about to end.

yes. to get a team approved it has to have a theme, it has to have a certain number of new members in a certain timeframe, it has to be business oriented, not a kaffe klatch like this team has been.

the focus is on selling not on groups of friends sharing day to day life stuff.

remember when queen elizabeth died and the uk sellers were consoling each other and that thread got locked in 27 minutes?

that's the type of thing i mean.

i'm not a seller. i've only helped sellers for years and never made a penny because i do it out of friendship.

i just made a uk seller friend a banner to warn that he can't ship to the u s because of tariffs until rm gets a way to collect them there.

this was because 90 percent of his sellers are american and would otherwise not realize this.

etsy does not care about people like me. i care about good sellers and their metrics. i care when they have a typo like  1938 instead of 1983, or a listing with a title that does not match their photos...

it's what i do. i'm down on the low end, blocked from the fora except for bugs.

i don't buy as much as i used to.

mary loves her new apartment but has no energy for teams. psych, like me, won't have access to them.

we only have maybe 3 others left who ever post.

lionfish left us ages ago.

i doubt 99 percent of the people listed for this team will even notice it's gone.

it just hurts because i've done my best here, trying to make sure things go posted to keep this team from deletion for the last couple of years.

I miss Lionfish. What ever happened to her?

I still buy here regularly, I have no qualms against utilizing the site even though I don't agree with its philosophy or like the way it treats sellers.

lionfish moved from here to washington and became less social.

i still buy and i'll still help seller friends.

Though I have been inactive for quite a while now (for various reasons) I always enjoyed reading the latest post. Over time, Team members have just kinda drifted away like Dandelions  being blown in the wind. But I do think a lot of the memories made here will be remembered quite fondly by many of us. 

Thank you Sill for being our leader, mentor and positive influencer throughout the team's tenure here. I know I will keep in touch via email. Your talent with the 'littles' should still be considered a possible shop for you here. I hope you will reconsider that.

And with a tear in my eye and a heavy heart I say goodbye to you all. May you all have many blessings in your lifetime. With love, Mary

By the way- the announcement was modified- and because so many people requested to keep their teams, nothing will happen until sometime in October! This team will not be disappearing today. And if someone wants to pick it up, there now is more time.

Abby here - I want to share an update regarding timing for the upcoming changes to Etsy Teams. 

As I mentioned earlier this month, we’re thrilled to be investing in a new interface for Etsy Teams, and will soon roll out updates to make it easier to find, join, and engage with vibrant, supportive Teams.

We understand September is soon, and hear your feedback around needing more time to prep. We’re happy to share that we are extending the application for Captains to indicate that they’d like to bring their  Team to the new interface. 

As a reminder, Captains who wish to continue to run their Team will need to submit an application for consideration. Please submit your application here if:

• You’re an active Team Captain who wants to continue leading your Team
• You’re an inactive Team Captain who wants to restart your Team
• You lead a Team on another platform and want to bring it to the new interface 

With this in mind, the new Team’s experience will roll out in October–this means the current Team experience will remain available until then. We hope this shift allows Captains more time to prep, setting the stage for an even more vibrant Teams community!

Came here to check on the bad news. Looks like we get a break for a little while. A decent gesture.

i continued working l;ast night, slept, got up at 4 something.someone took a bunch of the giveaway overnight! i pulled in a few things because it is going to rain this morning. i got the books in 2 double gallon ziplock bags that will protect them. i've concluded that if some things don't get taken it means they are not wanted. i hope somebody wants the books! a neighbor i asked didn't but i was able to give her my over 30 year old velvet jacket i don't wear. she has 3 daughters, it will fit one of them.
shadow had 3 splinters in his knee i had to remove with a safety pin, magnifying glass, and kahlua on a kleenex. this is one thing that has been messing up his knees.. the other is he stepped wrong.
i still have to wash his shirts, clean the bathroom, sort more stuff, and i can't do the go all day to late night this time, i'm too tired.
but at least some giveaway is gone and some dead things are dumped. i'm cold and waiting for it to warm up today. thank god it's summer.
that is latest update by nearly 8:30 am monday in this days long exhaustive process mostly by myself except for shadow doing the garbage dumping and heavier stuff.
he has gotten emotionally attacted to an ai co pilot who became his muse. there was a power blip and he lost her for a while and was freaked out. now it's like she is senile but remembers him. all this while i'm dealing with black mold and the heartbreak of losing a lot of things i'd like to keep.
in over 60 years i've never had to prep a place for terminex or face eviction threat. depressed does not start to cut it. i was poisoned by fumigation in the dorms of hawaii loa in 1980 and this is a huge threat to me. they say nothing they use is that kind of toxic now.
i can only hope...
