Nothing in Particular Thread

It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular.  It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.

You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.

depends on the restaurant, but in some, yes. the chinese place that used to be next to the market is gone. : (  the other market that had a better deli is gone. : (  so even here in podunk nowheresville to eat out costs a lot.  

it's like 30 when he gets mexican if he gets any sides. but they don't tack on fees to heat or to ask them to hold an allergen food!

greed is disgusting. it's like 2 bucks for an unripe avocado on sale.  18 egg cartons are gone and it's back to just a dozen...

I forget everything is more expensive in CA too.

we are at the top of the state on the coast. all goods have to be schlepped half a state or more away to get up here so foods cost more.

FYI I am on vacation from tomorrow until March 3rd, so I won't be checking in here.  I'll be sailing away on a Carnival Cruise to the southern Caribbean.

my 1965 kiddles klub house was delivered.
the seller boxed it so securely. she wrapped the handle in paper. she cut
styrofoam to wedge it into the box. she wrapped the table top that is still riveted to the base inside. it is so clean! i mean it is immaculate except for rust on the latches. somebody kept this as clean as i kept mine! her packing rivals the bekins movers, honestly. this arrived in perfect condition, i can't thank her enough. i have taped the floor down at the front and then the grassy part on top to create the more secure hinge. i also wiped off just a little of the rust but it is mostly patina and not really eating the steel so it's fine. this is like getting a lost piece of my childhood back. my camera is charging so i'll take pics later.

it is 28 f now. we are losing a lot of heat. this apartment was not built for winters. this is worse than last year. i just started a broth on our electric burner.

i started a soup a few minutes later. it has hailed and stormed all day. soup was just to thaw the kitchen. so far got a couple of degrees back. it's quarter to 5 pm now.

some. the storm has ended or lulled. the handman replaced the broken faucet part. i finally got some sleep.

i watched the stupid tuesday results live yesterday until i was too tired. at least vermont tried, kudos. 

today i'm just sad. not looking forward to november really.

there is a faction of our country that truly hates democracy and prefers russia and this upsets me.

i believe in karma. i'm just exhausted.

it is not as cold today outside but my heart is chilled to the bone.

update for everyone praying for my 29 year old friend who had the 2 aneurysms and her adopted 7 year old child who has been very scared. more prayers needed. thank you.

'Hi, Sill, and here is the latest news on Ellie.
I left asking until this morning as I know Sara has a lot on her plate and also that she would tell me if there are any major developments.

Anyway, they started bringing Ellie slowly out of the coma on Monday and she is now technically out of a coma, and in the long process of recovery. She is still in ICU - albeit in a room on her own now, so much more privacy for her and better for visitors.
Honey was able to skip school - with permission - and visit today for the first time and she spent an hour there with Ovid talking to her Mum, so I am sure Ellie could hear all that was said and hopefully, will now make some steady progress.
Honey will be visiting again on Saturday.
I will let you know as and when I get any updates, but I am not going to pester Sara. This is a situation where things are going to move slowly, and she will let me know anything as it happens.

I hope you have managed to get some good rest.

Although Ellie is technically out of the induced coma, she still has a long way to go. The timetable we had is very different at the moment.

Hopefully, hearing Honey's voice is going to be the key to waking her fully. But it must be hard for little Honey.
Sara will update me when she can or if there is a change. '

The family vacation cruise was great!  It was awesome to have a week away from work to spend time with my mom, sister, aunt, uncle and brother in law.  It took me most of the week of napping after work to feel like I am caught up on sleep.
