It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular. It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.
You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.
Thoughts?

@vlmkpyae Awww what a cute little garden. Thanks for sharing.
We grow mainly celery in a jar in the window.
Once in awhile we grow lettuce in a jar.
@vlmkpyae I like spring onions =] That is a pretty purple colour x
art, those were the tiny nubbys left after eating some. they are growing like weeds in just water. the flowers are chives. my friend, nancy, sent herbs from her garden and en route the chive stems flowered so i put them in water and they are growing. that is the only garden we have here. it's onb the microwave. the purple pot holder is almost 20 years old and predates amazon starting prime. it is aubergine. the other purple is on a mardi gras themed trivet.
@vlmkpyae I don't grow anything, I don't have green fingers, plants die on me = (
20 years old and the colour still looks so rich =]
All these new policy changes is a bunch of lion poo. It's stressing me out and it's very confusing. ( to me anyway) I don't need this in my life right now. Esp after the plaid disaster.
I'm going on vacay next week for personal reasons and might be for a month. I may not return if this new stuff is screwing up everyone. Doesn't seem to be a viable work around.
lion, things could change all over the place in that much time. be sure to check in for updates, and for getting convos. a lot of sellers feel like you do. the new rules are illegal for uk/eu selling for one thing.
@Lionfishvintage I still need to read more to understand what's going on with the new returns policy changes, it's confusing.
@dayspringcollectible @CappuccinoLace
If you currently have a written return policy, meaning the policy was created by you, outside of the standard choices provided by Etsy, we won’t support those anymore. That’s because we’ve heard from buyers that it would be helpful to see consistent return policies in the same place across Etsy. We know that as a small business, it’s important for you to maintain your voice and your branding, so you’ll still be able to use the FAQ section of your shop to add a personal touch to your shop.
@HandMaidsCrafts at first I thought Etsy had not thought this out well since they advertise personalization so heavily as being something uniquely available here because. Now with this sellers have to allow no returns on items that had been returnable or allow returns on customized items which should not be returnable. The only other option would be to move personalized items off to their own listings. I was thinking that is crazy and Etsy could not expect that and then oh wait, ah ha, if sellers are forced to create separate item listings for personalized items side by side with non personalized that is another .20 listing fee. Ka ching! As with so many things before, Etsy makes it harder for sellers with an eye to forcing things in a way that could make them more money.
honestly ecommercebytes needs to do an expose on this policy change thing asap. a lot of sellers will leave skeleton shops and refer to other places to be reached. i'm already seeing this.
how often does etsy change conversion prices shown? example. earlier this morning a uk listing was showing as 15.33 usd but now, afternoon it is 15.16 usd. does it change more than once a day on exchange rates?
As of now I have over 400 listings that have a personalization option. Normally I offer returns on non personalized and no returns on personalized. My options are separate and make 400 more listings which isn't happening or just go totally no returns
i put this below but here.
Totally understand where you are coming from @ThePurplePuppy because we are pretty much the same, overwhelmed with both business and human happenings right now. I've wondered myself if Etsy isn't trying to force out individuals here.
As to the items, sadly, yes you will have to go through item by item to mark which ones are no returns. Now if Etsy set you up with a returns and no returns policy option and put your items in to those at least you will have a start. You can do bulk edits with this. If you go through your item listing pages and mark which items are no returns, you can then use the bulk edit to put all the no returns in to a the no returns policy. If Etsy did not create a no returns for you, you will have to create that first before doing a bulk edit.
I am totally 'no returns or exchanges'. The few times I have had to deal with a buyer who wasn't happy or just changed their minds (because they didn't read the description) I dealt personally with them and came to amicable agreement...even if it meant 'returning or exchanging'. I find having control over these few instances make ME feel better and usually a happier buyer in the end...even if it meant a lost monies over it. This has worked for me for past 9 years.
@SewNSewSister I'm glad you shared that. It gives me hope
@vlmkpyae Of course i will check in while i'm on vacay!
I may have been born at night, but I wasn't born LAST night!!
ha ha

disgusting! i reported a shop. they are keyword spamming non vintage and crowding out real vintage. i have reported their listings before but it is whack-a-mole. on ebay they list as not vintage! page after page of results. i am disgusted and i finally reported their shop! i wish others would. sigh.
What is keyword spamming?
when the seller knows they are not something, in this case vintage, but puts vintage in all of their tags to dominate search results.
it's the same as using a brand name you are not selling to get your items to come up under a search for the brand name.
I haven't read the info on the new return policy thing. I don't feel like reading it right now. I went to the San Gennaro festival yesterday and stuffed my face with some really good Italian food. That was more fun than reading about unnecessary policy changes.
@GielDesigns I would prefer eating good food any time, just reading "good Italian food" make me hungry, YUM ^^
GielDesigns, I adore the San Gennaro Festival! Those sweet Italian sausage-and-pepper heros, yum!!!!!!!!!!
Yes, yes, yes -- the sausage and pepper heros! Art, I wish I could send you one. They're delish!
@GielDesigns Thank you, it's the thought that counts =] Yum yum =P
