It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular. It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.
You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.
Thoughts?
@psych62 It's very well done. Great casting!
I'm curious why, when you @ me it neither shows up as a link, nor did I get a mention notification...
Do you notice that your shop name is not underlined? I just hand typed it in, that's probably why you didn't get a notification. I guess I need to do it the "usual" way.
Good Morning All! Did any of you notice today on BuzzFeed News that they chose 20 ( think it was 20) sellers on Etsy who they think are special with great items for sale???? They showed a sample from each shop and their feedback.
Wow that's great. Thanks for sharing.
Was this the article ?

Lion ~ what did you think about the article?
What did i think about the article?
It was a good article i guess. Nice that some sellers were spotlighted.
Of course no vintage shops were talked about or craft supplies (?).
But there is also an article about how we are getting slapped with 1 star reviews for late delivery. I think that was important to let the public know about.
https://www.buzzfeednews.com/article/juliareinstein/etsy-christmas-delivery-delays
@Lion. Also missing was anything quilted like totes, table toppers, etc.. And what items they did show were just ok in my opinion. Not trying to be snarky but that's the way I saw it. I am happy for the shops that were highlighted. That ought to give them one heck of a boost.
And supposedly E will help those shops that got dinged because of late arrival. Let's see how that goes. An item I ordered 1 day after Thanksgiving arrived the day after Christmas. But my review will still be a 5 star without mention of it being late. People should just understand the situation ALL online shops have had to face with this Pan.
lion, that article is helpful about the postal delays and bad feedback. etsy should literally put a strikethrough on every bad feedback left because of usps no de joy this christmas delays in delivering their items. it is totally unfair of them and immoral if they don't do that.
I'm still dealing with the usps mess. Filed 2 missing mail reports today on orders that haven't updated in nine days. I'm hoping the reports will at least get them moving again. I['m thankful that, so far, my customers have been kind and understanding.
Ladies, maybe I come from another planet... if we already know a lot services are slow because of the virus/quarantine, why to wait until the last minute to do the Christmas/online shopping? I mailed the Christmas presents before Thanksgiving this year. Exaggerated? I guess so, but the presents arrived on time for sure.
Now, I closed all of the online stores when the quarantine started the day before St. Patrick's Day. And reopened on October because of the encouragement from a lot of ebay sellers I see at the post office. The first line at EVERY SINGLE product description indicates, "Because of the worldwide quarantine and virus outbreak, mail delivery may delay." Also, in the announcement section, in the store main/front page, there is the same line.
In other words, I do warn and remind about the situation. Even the USPS website does.
I was glad for your critique because Vintage is what I always look for.
PS - I want to thank you for all the cute cat gifs. I pass them on to my Granddaughter. She is cat crazy.
take good care, Lion. @Lionfishvintage
@collecteddust Yeah- sometimes it seems vintage gets treated like the neglected step child, huh?
So glad you passed them onto yr granddaughter.
I should do more dog gifs too to be fair!!
@Lion. I have to admit I am an avid Dog Lover. All of my dogs over the past 30 years have been Rescue dogs. Cats kind of scare me. And I know they sense that from me. But I still think they are absolutely beautiful creatures and so much fun to watch their reactions to various situations.
I LOVE when you post your gifs. Cat or dog. Hope you keep posting them.
ok, so i noticed the slider thingy on the camera of my tablet. i put it all the way to the left and i think i got a cleaner pic today.
toy soldier is petting a 3d printed blue cat that was a gift from the seller i bought otto the carpenter nutcracker elf hallmark 1992 ornament from, who is standing in front of father christmas. i painted the face and clothing on the gingerbread man magnet, as well as the balsa houses that came from malta. oldest thing in the pic is the spun cotton snowman behind the front of the dakin train. 1940's. newest is the 3d printed cat, just made this week, i think.
It's like a whole Village of little people! The dolls are my fav. So foreign and 'classy' looking. What wonderful work you do and collect Sill.
thanks, mary. it's a 1973 denmark, a 1990's spain, toy soldier, father christmas, and holiday on ice minus her skates because they broke and that was why she was discounted. my camera finally stopped taking blurry pics.
@SewNSewSister Dogs are great! And you can walk them a heck of a lot easier than a cat.
Sometimes i wish our cat was a bit more like a dog. It would be great to be able to take her everywhere like you can with doggies.
Thanks for adopting rescue dogs BTW.
Ooooh ... my littlest kitty pulled alot of stunts with the Christmas decorations this year ! .... he needs a hobby !
Poor Joe Cocker. He was truly messed up back then.Loved him and his personality.
Mad Dogs and Englishmen was a great music documentary. Hard to find but you can see the live concerts of individual songs.
Loved Leon Russell with him. R.I.P. to both of them.
Cry me a river- Leon on piano.
A mess in a way / but I always loved him . Not even sure why !!!
@MelsMixYeah he was great . Hey they were all high most of the time but that's the way it was. They were all awesome.
I woke up this morning to the first real snowfall of the season. Yuck, I may need to shovel the driveway.
I hate snow. That's about the only thing I like about Los Angeles, no snow or extreme cold.
@psych62 Snow- i only like it if i'm sitting by a fire with a hot toddy in one hand and looking at it through a window.
Too cold!!
At 730 this morning, was out on my patio deck for a second and slipped and fell . It was 39 degrees. Didn't realize there was black ice on the wood. ( I'm O.K.)
I know to east coasters thats probably warm.
So no thanks to anyplace colder...
