Nothing in Particular Thread

It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular.  It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.

You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.

she turns 9 on dec. 10 but she also knows about covid delays. again, thank you, that is kind.

@vlmkpyae I had to do a long drive yesterday and I've had the package with me whole day. Was hoping that I got a chance to put it in the post. I came back late at night and stopped by the post box on my way back, I had it put in the post box for collection at 9 this morning =]  

It probably won't get there by 10th Dec next Thursday but I'm glad I did manage to get them done. I have a lot going on at the moment =]

Let me know when they gets it, a little something for Mia and Abe =]

so the gift i rushed to put together and ship got to the city and they went to deliver it today, but nobody was there to sign for it! sigh. they knew it was coming! so now usps tracking has this huge warning that they have to either go get it or ask for redelivery... so i emailed both my friend and her kids, aka grandma and parents. so far no reply. gah! they have to get the thing!

no. and it is saturday morning and no update. not hearing from my friend and usps is still showing the alert. grrrrr! this is why i'm not a seller. shipping stuff. if somebody won't go get their expensive box or have it redelivered why send them anything?

I just finished watching The Crown season 4. I love it! I know there is fiction mixed with history in this series, but I guess that's what makes it so entertaining. Got hubs hooked on it too. Anybody else here fans of The Crown?

You have to have Netflix, it's exclusive to Netflix TV, at least in this country. We don't have cable but hubs pays something like 20 dollars a month for Netflix, which has some really good stuff.

i read up on it. i think i will pass. i like queen elizabeth. i understand a lot of the storylines are soap opera level fabricated. i prefer real soap operas that are 100 percent fabricated. : )

It's rough this time of year! I purchased some small jewelry making parts and asked the seller to put them in a big envelope, but she forgot. My tiny parcel hasn't been scanned since the 24th when it was 'out for delivery'. The gal at the PO today said it's probably just jammed in hiding at the bottom of a carrier's bag. You should see how loaded their carts are! She said it will probably show up one day. Did your rushed gift package get picked up or get a re-delivery Sil? @vlmkpyae

elizabeth, that tracking still says customer requested redelivery on the 29th. it has not updated since! 

our heater finally made it to san pablo after being stuck in pa. since the 27th. but that is ups. nothing from the post office is arriving on time and things are already 1 to 2 days late including amazon prime food.

Sil, not only is Amazon Prime Whole Foods and Fresh running late, but they are running low on food. Many problems with all types of deliveries. Many people are calling in sick and can't work. There are even less longhauler trucks on the road to make deliveries. I believe Dr. Fauci when he says we are in for a long hard winter.

i'm sorry for sounding like "bad news Betty". The truth is out there.

hi, margaret. sorry to hear that. with so many curfews, lockdowns, etc, it will be crucial for people to get food this winter. stock up on what you can. you never know when you or a neighbor might need something. i agree, stay safe, be careful, and don't starve or freeze.

When we had the 1st covid lockdown in April, every time i went to grocery store, I would buy either  1 can of soup , beans , chili or Annie Chuns noodle dishes ( which are shelf stable ).

I would only buy 1 at a time because i don't believe in food hoarding.

I now have a nice collection of about 20 of the above.

I think I will start doing this again. 1 each time i visit a grocery store. Frozen diced mixed veggies are also good to have on hand to add to homemade soup with diced potatoes, carrots , onions and bullion cubes.( i use the veggie ones)

We have a food saver  to vacuum pack and freeze anything we don't think we will eat right away like extra bread, cheese, pastries, bagels  , cut up fruit meat, tofu, etc. 

Almost anything can be frozen and if you have a vacuum type sealer , your food won't get freezer burn.( I love my food saver)
