It seems like there should be a single thread where team members could just gather and catch up with eachother about nothing in particular. It's nice to have other threads to discuss a particular topic, but would also be nice to have a thread where you could go to see who's around at that moment.
You know, like a never-ending, continuously running thread.
Thoughts?
@pigeonplumtree . that's good, pigeon. i'm sure she knows this.
@ElizabethRosenArt , @pigeonplumtree . yes, moving a few feet is better. things will be ok i'm just overwhelmed with the details. i found some of the watercolor painting i made last decade and they were still ok, not moldy. i saved greeting cards from my old ebay friends, some of whom have passed. sigh. shadow gave away some books and i collected 3 bags of clothing we don't wear anymore because his size changed and i had stuff i never liked so i only kept what i do want to wash and keep. they can sell that stuff to benefit feeding and tnr of the ferals.
i am seeing laundry in my sleep by now, lol.
we move 8am june 1st, with the power and phone on, and internet will be swapped in the afternoon. little by little... i wish i could get excited but that takes energy beyond coffee, lol. all dolls are packed except rebecca. stuffed animals get packed soon. i'm dreading packing the lego, it's heavy. i need to make a big pot of soup. the new fridge is smaller.
Do you make things out of lego?
@pigeonplumtree . we have a collection of lego from when we were on bricklink. we used to sell off pieces very cheaply to buy more. it began when shadow got a lego box as part of a happy meal promo from mc donalds. he grew up with lego, i didn't. then he wanted more and we found some in a thrift store, and then we looked on ebay and finally found bricklink and bought and opened a shop there. we never made more than 50 dollars the entire time we had an open shop. after shadow's hernia op. getting to the post office became impossible to walk to anymore so we quit. as a result we have a lot of lego and it is heavy and bulky. we used to make mocs. i'm sure shadow would like to make them again, maybe after we move to the apt. with better light and less mold.
@vlmkpyae I just took a look at the Bricklink site -- never knew such a thing existed. I loved Lego when I was growing up and still have some stashed in my house somewhere.
@GielDesigns . bricklink has radically changed since we had a shop. we still have a shop it is just permanently closed. it had fora and a lot of chatting. by now it is less hobby and more professional. we had good friends on there who are likely almost all gone by now.
the original creator of bricklink died years ago. they run it for him.
Hey, do you remember when Lego sets used to come in those little plastic suitcases? I think we got one for Christmas one year.
I used to love Lego. I used to like making houses and amusement parks.
@vlmkpyae , what is a moc?
Okay, I see. Seems like so many things eventually lose their "fun" nowadays. I guess there are other lego groups around too but I just never thought about checking online for any.
I looked up MOC when I was looking at Bricklink. Google says it stands for "my own creation." That's funny because that's the only thing we ever did with lego. There were no sets to make a specific anything, no instructions, and no little lego person figures. And, yes, I definitely remember the little suitcases some of the sets came in. My favorite things to make were furniture for my Barbies and little houses.
testing
Probs being able to post past the first line. Will keep trying.
1,2....
Oh dear. I can't say as I understand young people and what they are into these days.
specifics?
Unicorns. Do you get it? I don't.
What kind of soup did you make?
I made soup today (well, technically yesterday). I just make a base of broth and spinach and I add whatever I want to it when I decide to have some. For supper, I added a can of red kidney beans. It was good. And tomorrow, I'll add some leftover cooked hamburger. That's good, too.
I eat soup every day for either lunch or dinner. It is a good meal stretcher and it lasts for days.
It took forever but I finally made it back to 300 listings!!!
Carry on.
Congrats, Funky! That zodiac casserole dish is AWESOME!
Thanks, Jane!
Thankfully I was selling, too, so that was part of the problem getting my numbers up. I figured out that instead of messing around online at work during slow times, as my boss says that as long as my work is done he doesn't care what I do, that I should maybe actually do some WORK on my etsy shop that might make a difference ;-P
That’s hard work. I’m close to 200. They are made just not listed.
Care for a bowl of soup?
Oh yes! Please and thank you. I love soup.
What kind?
I just made a delicious batch of chicken corn chowder, I used Bear Creek potato soup (it's the family size dehydrated packet) as a start along with some Better than Bouillon chicken bouillon, just a bit for seasoning as I added more water than the potato soup called for, two previously roasted chicken thighs kind of chunky shredded, several carrots chopped in large chunks, one fresh ear of corn (stripped) and one bag of Jolly Green Giant roasted corn and peppers. It's delish!
I've tried for years to master the chicken corn chowder and this recipe just popped into my head out of nowhere, I had all the ingredients and it clicked!
My soup is very simple. The base is 4 Knorr veggie gels, 16 cups of water and 2 packages of frozen spinach, because I love cooked spinach.
Then, with that, I just add to it whatever tickles my fancy, but I mostly add a half a can of some kind of beans or lentils to my daily portion and just eat it like that.
It's filling and it lasts for about week.
I'm having soup for breakfast!
That's why I like it, it takes the pain of figuring out what to eat out of the daily equation. Good soup is good soup!
