Well, there is that new orange banner above announcing further updates that wasn't there this morning.  I wonder if they are figuring out new means of curtailing communications that have already be changed into ways to play the mutually supportive threads that were the mainstay of many teams before the shutdown.

Etsy began as a means by which artists could help and support other artists.

The forums were our community.  Where is the community in this new forum structure?

They didn't even include a general Discussion forum this time.  They could have named one, Community Discussion.  All cut and dry now.  Like Reddit forum for Etsy with all of it's strict rules.

I've been working on rebuilding my own website.  Since during the period of time the forums were down, my traffic from within Etsy dropped from 70% to less than 30% but my numbers over all held up because I worked every day to bring traffic in via various social media platforms and blogs.

And this is why now if you want to just chat with some other folks, you HAVE to open or be a member of a Team. That is ridiculous.

I'm also not a fan of the look. Posts are huge, and not as clean as probably is supposed to be.

You hit the nail on the head.  Etsy is trying to control the community so they only have to see what they want to see on the forums, which is pretty short sighted IMHO and also community killing.

I was flabberghasted by the sheer quantity of people that are visiting the forum and suddenly realized why the new forum clamps down a bit on free advertizement... So they can charge a fee instead.

Are the forums for people with active shops only now?  Because you can see them not signed in, can you just not post?  It makes me sign in every.dang.time.

I think things are still messed up - some profiles aren't showing up, I've seen reports of people not being able to get into teams (which leads to were some muted before, others say they've never been, so I don't know the correlation there).

Someone mentioned they had TWO whole weeks to do this, and this is where we are at.  That AND a beta team.  

I've noticed there is no auto correct, so if I spell something wrong I will apologize in advance!
