Hey..
I had the strangest thing happen. A man told me that he had ordered from my shop link that I gave him. I told him nothing is there.
no money. no email notification etc. I said send me a screenshot. he did not. finally he sends me a copy of the order. but it's from
someone elses etsy shop. what the heck?! I gave him normasbath.etsy.com

Are they an etsy member, or was it a "guest" checkout. If they are new to etsy or a guest to etsy, they may not realize that etsy is a network of many shops. They may have come through your link, did a search, & not realized they had gone to another shop. This happened to me in the past & I they were trying to use one of my coupons in a different shop. They kept complaining my coupon didn't work. I finally got them to send me a screen shot, only to find they were trying to buy from another shop & not mine. Even after explaining it to them... They still didn't get that they weren't buying from me & that my coupons don't work in other shops.. Best you can do is send them to the shop they bought from & explain to him to how Etsy is not one big shop but many shops.
Hi Mystical,
He was a guest checkout he said. I hate that. can't etsy do something about this? makes me wonder how many orders I've lost with people not really knowing whom they are buying from?
It's happened to me too. My brother gave my Etsy info to a friend. A few days later, she told him she was going to order a "beautiful beige scarf" she saw in my shop. Problem is, I don't sell scarves. She had come to my shop but had navigated her way into someone else's. She had never been on Etsy before and didn't realize how it's set up.
Awful! etsy needs to make another change because making a purchase shouldn't be confusing to the buyer. I sent him to my other website so that he won't do this again.
