Do the new forums not notify us when someone replies to our posts?

On the old forums we could always know when someone replied to our posts because of that little blue sign next to the thread we posted in. 

On the new forums we have notifications, but, unless I am missing something, there is no difference if someone replies to our posts, or posts his own post, as long as it is in the same thread. (I don't know Iif I explained myself well...) This means that we have to open the threads every time to see if someone replied us or just posted something that does not have to do anything with our post... 

I really feel lost on these forums... Maybe because I'm getting old (almost 30, LOL! )

When it's working correctly, yes, I think that is the plan but I have noticed that some of the threads that people have commented on after me, I didn't get notifications for.

Neither did I, that's why I'm asking. I did once receive a notification that I was tagged and I thought that was it, but I never received it after that, and people did reply on my posts... Strange...

I think you have to go into your settings and can decide on notification. ..I think....

I think all notifications are on by default.  But from what I can tell there is no notification if someone replies directly to you unless they mention you using @designbcb.

I can't figure this out for the life of me.  I get a notification if someone responds in some thread I may have looked at once, but not if someone replies to ME, unless they use @.  What am I missing???  Why be here if I don't know if soeone responds to me???

i get notified when anyone responds.
