Re: Chat Thread for 2014

well hubby is now in hospital and possibly scheduled to have a pace maker....they are not sure yet , if this will solve the problem. I am having to go back and forth each day to Morriston hospital. Parking is a real nightmare...the first day I spent 40 mins driving round and round looking for a space and eventually parked illegally and kept my fingers crossed. The parking was so stressful that the next day I took the bus (well TWO buses) the whole round journey took 5 hours !!! and I am having to do that every day !!
As you can guess I am pretty tired now....today is day number 6. I drive to the Swansea Park and Ride, then get the bus into the centre...then I have to walk outside the bus station to get the hospital bendy bus.....all because they cannot build a car park big enough for everyone.!!
Oh well....at least at the end of it all I should have lost some weight !

Re: Chat Thread for 2014

thanks Gayle......they still haven't decided on the treatment for hubby......so I am still making the daily 5 hour trip to Morriston hospital......it is quite annoying as I could drive there in 30 mins but can't park. Getting a bit tired of all the travelling now...it takes such a lot of time out of each day.....but I cannot leave him without visitors. Hopefully he will be home soon and I can get back to my painting. Good job I have a stock of ones waiting to be listed.

Re: Chat Thread for 2014

I'm so sorry to hear that Brenda. Your situation would be extremely stressful at any time of year but it's somehow worse at Christmas. Will hubby be in hospital over Christmas? Fingers crossed that it all gets resolved soon. Big hugs. X

hopefully hubby will get a pacemaker today and be home for the weekend. To add to it...our son who had heart surgery in the summer has been told that his new heart valve is leaking and he might have to have it all done again !!

Re: Chat Thread for 2014

Hi Gayle

I would love to visit the gallery but, I live in America! I just visited my beloved Wales! I was able to purchase art from a seller on the team! Let me know if you come across any vintage linens.

Thanks!

Re: Chat Thread for 2014

I'm so sorry to hear that Brenda. It's hard to imagine how much stress you must be under at the moment. Fingers crossed that hubby will be home by the weekend and that your son gets his problems resolved quickly.

How often do you manage to visit Wales Carey Ann? It's quite a trek for you!
Unfortunately, I don't get to visit charity shops like I used to - but they are great haunts for finding old textiles. So difficult to part with though!
I'll let you know if I come across anything interesting

Bye for now, Rosemary X

Re: Chat Thread for 2014

Hi all

Hi Brenda, I hope things are settling down for you and that your son and husband are doing well.

My gran had one of the first ever heart valves in the world fitted when she was a child. She had rheumatic fever which left her heart weak and the valve fitting must have saved her life. She had the valve for over 50 years - so I hope that gives you a bit of a boost of confidence that they can and do work wonderfully. Sounds like we'll all be wishing you and your family well and thinking about you.

Best wishes of the season to everyone near and far! (Carey- Ann)

Re: Chat Thread for 2014

thanks for all the good wishes for hubby and son. Hubby is now home and had a pacemaker fitted last week. He has the stitches out tomorrow. He is still quite unwell so I am hoping it is just the result of the anaesthetic and the hacking cough that he came home with.
Son is back in Glasgow hospital for more tests and we have no idea yet, what they consultant will decide to do....just hope he is ok.....obviously we hope that it doesn't involve any further surgery.
Just a query and not meaning to be nasty to anyone but have you noticed on the listing thread a long description from someone. Not sure if it is Spam or someone poaching on this thread. It might be quite genuine but hope it is OK for him to post his advertising campaign for his shop. (no pictures). He lives in London and no mention of any Welsh connections......?? If he is a genuine member of the group, then I apologize....

Re: Chat Thread for 2014

well good news. My son had a 3D scan in Glasgow and although they said that his new heart valve is leaking, they are not overly concerned about it and said that they will see him again in 6 months just to keep an eye on him....phew "
I hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas with lots of crafting goodies.
