To get more comments on your blog, avoid having people "register" or sign in with their email address to leave a comment on your blog. Having to do this turns off a lot of people from leaving comments because they think they are going to land up on an unwanted mailing list. Many others just don't want to go through the trouble so they just leave without commenting. Try it! I did and my comments increased dramatically.
