Today is my interview and my nerves are racing! That's pretty much all I can think about at the moment.

Morning Jen. Thanks for putting the chat up. I know you will ACE this interview and can't wait to hear how it goes.

Had a great night and morning with Taylor. I took her to see Bruce's apartment because she hadn't been there yet and we had a wonderful time with him and Pepper. Then we went to the old 7-11 where we used to take them after basketball games and practices so I could get gas and she relived those moments by getting herself a Slurpee! She was so excited to do that again.

Today she didn't have to be at work till 10:00 so we enjoyed some extra time this morning. So nice to have her home. Wish it could have been for longer.

About to head into the sewing room now, the NEW and improved sewing room. Then I have a dermatologist's appointment at 1:15. Hoping she doesn't have to freeze a bunch of stuff off me today. I've been real lucky that I've never been a sun worshipper.

Tonight one of the young women I used to work with is coming down for dinner. Asked if she could come and talk. Not sure what this will be about. Praying for wisdom.

Today is my daughter's b-day. We are just going to relax today and take her out to dinner tonight. Tomorrow is her sleepover party with her friends. So we ended up going to pick out glasses for my son last evening. He picked out some really cute Nike glasses. He looks adorable in them. He seems better about it after we got the glasses picked out. And we reminded him he won't have to wear them all the time - just for seeing the smartboard and regular board at school, and watching tv or movies at home or school or the theater. In other news, I got stung by a yellowjacket last night. It really hurts! We discovered we have a whole nest of them under the mulch under one of our trees. Yuck. My husband thinks we should just leave it and when winter comes they will freeze and die off - however I read that the fertilized female will remain dormant over the winter. Plus it looks like it's quite extensive under the large circle of mulch under this tree. I don't want my kids to get stung. So that's something for us to look into.

Hi Erica, I don't blame you for wanting to get rid of those yellow jackets ASAP! Hope the sting wasn't too bad!

As for Smokey, he did not come beg for his breakfast again, which was disappointing. He did eat, but only about half of his normal. And when I was getting ready to leave for work, he shot upstairs like a bullet and hid under the bed. I think he was afraid I'd be taking him to the vet for a 3rd day in a row, poor baby! Hoping he's feeling more himself in the next couple days. I'm just happy to know his blood test was good and he's pretty healthy for an old fat boy :)

Morning Erica. Happy Birthday to your daughter. So glad your son was able to find some awesome glasses that he will be sportin' now. Makes such a difference in how they feel about themselves.

My advice on the nest is to get it out of there. Underground bees/wasps/etc can be riled up by lawnmowers and other such things and come out in a swarm. We've had it happen down here and it can be dangerous.

I would check with a professional and see what they say.

Jen I'm sure he's still recovering from all that's gone on. At least he ate and theres a lot to be said for that. Now if he's still not eating at the end of the week I'd be worried but I'm sure you'll find that he's a little better every day.

Glad you guys like the room. Already makes such a difference! It just looks so much nicer and not so crowded. I'm loving working in there so I'm going back to it now!

Oh and we can actually see the blue in the sky today. Haven't had any rain since about 2:00 yesterday.

Pat - yes, I think we definitely need to have a pest company come and take care of the nest. glad to hear that you have blue skies today - at least for a bit! ha.

Jen - poor Smokey. Yes, he hopefully just needs a few days to re-coup and to realize that you aren't going to drag him out to the vet again!

I am still fighting with the heat. It is the same as last week and they say tomorrow the temperature will grow again. I am so tired of this summer... I can't work well, I am sleepy... My girls are ok. I take them in the morning to swim and in the afternoon I give them a bath, to cool them...

Ugh still sitting here waiting to hear on hubby's behalf. He works today 6-2 so they better not wait till than to call him, or I may just go insaine. I want to be able to go out of the house, but don't typically take the phone with me so that keeps me pretty stuck, don't even want to go to the garden to weed as I just don't want to forget it somewhere...

Erika I wouldn't want bees in my ground either. We had some sort of wild bee make a nest in an old tree root, and hubby just plugged up the few holes they came in and out of and put that wasp spray in it first, and that took care of them pretty easily, but it was a pretty small nest so far... We felt bad to do it, but at that time we had a baby, and didn't want him to get stung.., and we don't have a large yard in the first place and this was directly in the middle of it...

Well boss just called and asked what time I was leaving. He's like "I wish you the best of luck and hope everything works out OK and there's no problems." I quickly changed the subject. I seriously don't know if he is suspicious and is trying to make me feel like crap or he is clueless and thinks I'm dying lol.

He just had to get that last jab in to make me even more nervous. I'm trying to focus on the interview but I still have that worry in the back of my head about what I'll say if I get the job. Sigh...

Erica - Hopefully you won't need to prep too much for the sleepover tomorrow. My daughter loved sleepovers when she was younger and I recall one my son had to celebrate his birthday...I don't think those boys slept at all! Nice that your son found a cute pair of glasses. Kids can be so cruel these days but I think glasses are more fashionable and more common now. Getting stung by a yellow jacket is not fun! I hope you get rid of them soon!

Lyriel - Your ear cuff is so artistic and unique! Yay for the wedding order! I can relate with you on the heat. The forecast does show our temps going down some - maybe high 80's to low 90's. That will be a welcome relief!

Last night my phone went dead! I tried charging it and nothing. What's strange is a little blue light is flashing in the upper left corner like it's on but the screen is black. I love my Droid and haven't had any problems before so will make a trip to the Verizon store. It feels weird being without it!!

I wrestled with my little labradorite cab stone yesterday (wire wrapping) but finally finished it and am pretty happy. I was taking pics with my phone when it went dead!

Our house is right behind an irrigation canal and with this hot weather, they have been cleaning out lots of gunk (moss mostly) that collects at a turning point by our house. It smells horrible when they clean and don't pick up the stuff right away! It's almost unbearable to sit out in the back yard :( I think the heat adds to the stink!

Yes, Smokey could definitely stand to lose a few pounds lol. They said it's dangerous for overweight cats to stop eating but since he's eating a little, I think he'll be ok.

The lady just contacted me after the numerous reviews she left and thanked me for the extra soap I gave her and complimented my packaging. I needed that boost today. She makes gift baskets with them so hoping to see her around again for the holidays :)

Lyriel that ear cuff is the most beautiful that I've seen you do so far. I love it. I'm sure there are many people who would LOVE to send you some of this rain. It's still sunny so far but we are expecting rain later today. Not as widespread though. Hoping it cools down for you soon.

Jamie, the reason I just did the room is because I finally convinced my husband that it was ok to take the bed out of there to make more room. He's been extremely resistant to doing that in the event one of the kids needed somewhere to sleep. But now that he sees how much busier I've become and the fact that the kids are more settled he relented. I love it and I can't wait for him to come home and see it. He certainly wouldn't have wanted to work under those conditions. I just have to allow him to get used to the ideas when these things come up. LOL He's such a man!!!!

Jen, if you get the job I would just be point blank and tell him why you're leaving. Not in a cruel way but just in an honest way. He needs to hear it and I think it will do you good to say it. Don't worry about him being mad or trying to guilt you. If he'd really cared that much he would have done a better job of making that office a great place to work. You are not his keeper. He's a grown man and he can handle it. He'll have to handle it.

Been making dog bags like crazy. Trying to really get my inventory up for this fall. Oh and I got my statement from The Local Coop yesterday and I had sold one doggie bag dispenser. It was pretty exciting even if small. I know that as we get into fall and the holidays that will increase. Also I start working there this Friday so that will be fun. It's just from 11:00 to 2:45 so not the whole day.

Jill's husband's service is Friday night. Bruce and I will be attending. It will be packed so we'll definitely have to leave early to even get inside. Still so sad.

Ha, hubby just imed me asking if I had heard anything, to which I repeated my pleed for him just to email them. I mean really makes everyones life easier if the answer is no, no phone call needed and I can get on with my life, Or say they are waiting for word back from the supervisor or whomever had to ok their choice... At least I would know it wasn't coming today and maybe have a new date to think about.

OK I made it back from the interview in one piece. I think he thought I took the afternoon off and kind of wish I had now, but oh well I'm here now (he of course left already for the day and doesn't even know I'm here).

So, there was 3 of us left in the running. They scheduled all 3 of us to come in at 1pm. We sat there until 1:42 until they finally called the first person back. At least there was a TV in the lobby and I think it helped calm my nerves. We went in 1 at a time for what was about a 5 minute interview (after a 45 minute wait).

I see now the wait was because they had to have their board meeting first and the board is 5 seriously old men. One said he's the youngest and he's 79. But they were absolutely adorable lol. They asked super easy questions and the head of the office observed, as did the lady who'd be my immediate supervisor. I feel like this was kind of a formality with the board and unless they absolutely hated someone, it would be mostly up to the people who actually work there.

I also feel like they wanted to see how we'd interact with a bunch of old veterans lol.

I feel like I did pretty good. The head guy said I did good as he walked me out and I heard one of the old guys say "well she's certainly well-qualified" as I left the room.

Thankfully they said they will let me know either way and I'm pretty sure they'll make the decision today.

Will let you know if I hear anything.

He'd probably pester me anyway Peggy. I almost did text him, then decided I'd just slip it in tomorrow somehow lol. He will actually be in Toledo for a hearing (3 hours from us) so he'll be gone all day but the client is picking him up here at 9. Hahaha...like he'll actually be here at 9!
