How is everyone doing this Friday morning? I am counting the minutes to get out of work and start my 3 day weekend! I have shows on back to back weekends starting next week so I have a lot to get accomplished this weekend.

I've also been doing a lot of research on how to go about my mosaic soap dish project. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to use for a base.

What is everyone else up to today? Getting ready for a weekend picnic? Shopping for fireworks? Walking the dog? Stop by and say hello!

Hi Jen!!! Yay for freedom!! and for sales!!!! I actually got a nice sale yesterday!! 2 cat harnesses, for a lady with 2 sphinx cats! :)

Been a crazy busy week again!! today is First Friday, tomorrow a graduation party, Monday is a show at a town wide parade/4th celebration, and Tuesday is a blood donation!! weds i sleep!! lol

Hello everyone! Long time no see! I just wanted to stop by and see how everyone was doing.

Me: I had a great year teaching at the high school I graduated from. They did let me go at the end of the year due to a stupid law. Out school district does not keep first year teachers (it's long to explain), but they let them reapply. I reappied, and so far I have not been asked back. It's a shame because I was super involved in so much (sponsored class council, coached two sports, active committee member...). So if they don't hire me back, they are missing out! I have been applying other places, but so far no luck. Now it's a waiting game until August because no one is doing any hiring in the middle of July. Everyone is with their families and enjoying summer. But I'm hopeful! But things have actually been really good here. It's been a good year.

Jen - Yay for long weekends! I also have a long break from the little rascals I watch. I do a summer camp every summer, and they are tough this year!

Elaine - Sounds like a very long, busy weekend. Hopefully you don't pass out BEFORE you give blood! lol

I will check in throughout the day. So glad to see everyone and glad to see this team is still holding strong. <3 :)

Well I just found out the idiot made an after-hours appointment for yesterday and never told me about it so it wasn't on the calendar...and he didn't show up. This was a guy who was supposed to be bringing money to hire him. The office manager is fully aware - she keeps trying to think of things I should be doing to make him less incompetent. I replied that I have been trying for over 2 years to do that but he just needs to screw his head on straight.

Hopefully this guy does not hire him now. Even better if it got to the higher-ups, but I've figured out by now it's wishful thinking!

Oh and since I have pretty much nothing to do again today, I've been listing items on Ebay lol. I decided to move my painted shelves etc over there since they're not moving here. I only have a handful left that didn't sell at the shows but I'd like to get rid of them - I don't have the space!

I've never done Ebay but I figured now is as good of a time as any!

Jen - Ebay is a great place. Hope your shelves and things sell over there. Make sure you give them lots of pictures and size/color descriptions! :)

Welcome back Peggy, I think you have met the most THAT members LOL Jen, Pat and Jacqui right?

Vito I have heard lots of schools do crappy stuff like that. My friend avoided that her first year but every other year she basically waited for a pink slip till like her 5th or 6th year at the same school then they let her go, and she went off to get a recommendation letter from one of her old professors at university (she has her masters now) and they ended up offering her a way better job, and then her school finally came back and offered her job back to her, but she does stuff at the University now. She gets paid more to work less now lol.

Everyone must be trying to get out early for the weekend. Garbage I believe already went by and they don't normally go by till noon, and hubby had his work free lunch yesterday, he assumed as many high ups would be taking a 4 day weekend... They got free lunch (their pick between 4 food trucks) and a swag bag basically lol. the bag was a freezer bag with company logo on it, and sunscreen, sunburn gel, and a coupon for a free tub of blue bunny ice cream. Dinner was so good last night we didn't get to the ice cream, but it may call to me at lunch hehe. We didn't have the boys last night so I told him we had to get the ice cream then as otherwise the kids would fight over which one to get, and we would end up with something much more kid taste budded.

Anywho Jen that OM needs to be his baby sitter lol, after all she's the family friend or whatever

Ok I better go get things cleaned up around here, I'm not sure if boys will be back this afternoon or if we have to pick them up. They are at fil's and step mil slightly broke her ankle or something the other day, so where as 9yo I would think would be a help to her right now, it was 5yo's overnight turn, and they aren't the best behaving together so idk if they can make it all day long there...

Vito, were you a long term substitute teacher? I can understand why you would have to go through the hiring process if that was the case but if you were hired on as a permanent teacher, doesn't make sense to me. I hope you find a job before the new school year.

Peggy, home sweet home :) Looks like you had a fabulous time and how sweet to be able to visit Pat and Jacqui! Lots of great pics on facebook :)

I was non stop busy yesterday with pics and listings. I got 4 things listed and I want to list 2 or 3 more today. I experimented with using Mike's tumbler he uses for his brass casings and tumbled some copper patina rings. They came out pretty good after 8 hours of being in the tumbler. It sure beats polishing by hand! It also work hardens the wire which is a big bonus.

Jimmy was over last night for dinner. I barbecued steelhead which he loves. Nice to see him twice in one week! lol

Hi Peggy! Moes is right, you've definitely met the most team members! How fun :)

Moes, I agree about the OM. She just keeps coming up with more ideas of things that I should be doing to babysit him, not considering the fact that he is a grown man. I told her flat out that I've tried to talk to him in the past and it's done no good - that's just how he operates.

Funny how I'M the one that should be doing things differently to cater to his stupidity and irresponsibility!

Jamie, sounds like you have some different projects in the works too! Love the new bracelet you posted!

Well the idea at this point is possibly making my own soap dishes out of concrete and doing mosaic on that - maybe even leave some plain for those minimalist fans. I will have to figure out a mold for the concrete. I've been putting some brainstorming into this! I want to have it mostly figured out before putting more money into supplies!

Well, that makes me the lucky one!

Got a request for a custom order, while on vacation, and was able to communicate with her and get fabric ordered. Took pic this morning of the fabric and just awaiting her approval to get started on the runner. One of these days, something that is already made will actually go to a new home! Oh, well, still fun to do.

Ugh, I've over sold on black ribbon...
Well tech the other person hasn't checked out yet, but still I know they will, as they are a repeat customer. They use the same supplier, but the supplier has been out of Black forever, and they had to order from china but need something till their China order gets there.
Then I just got an order for 5yards... so I sent the new order a message seeing if they can use a slimmer ribbon as I can get that still, or if they need it right away, or if they could use any other color instead.
I've also now sent a note to the supplier asking when they plan to have black back in the widest width, which being going into the holiday weekend not sure if I will hear back b4 Tues, otherwise they are typically very responsive. They have been also out of another ribbon I sell for awhile so I asked about that too as I would like to reactivate the listing.

I've got a million new ideas brewing in my head now for projects. I have had basically nothing to do all day so at least I'm making good use of my time. I want to try experimenting with concrete, beyond just the soap dishes. There's some really cool stuff you can make with it!

Shockingly enough I actually got a sale from my Christmas in July sale today! A lady ordered three of my dog poop bag dispensers.

Thanks for the compliments on the bracelets! I love that pattern and will need to buy more wrapping wire as I ran out on the last bracelet. Hoping to make a sale or two before placing another wire order. My last two orders were huge!

I need to quit picking favorites for dogs, they keep disappearing the next day lol, I have a new one sounds our speed is over 9 years, so I guess we'll see how long she sticks around.

Right now they have a ton of bonded sets which means you have to adopt all not just the one, which makes it annoying to look thru the list as they are still all posted separately so it looks like they have a ton, but you take out the pairs and the mean dog breeds and there is like a couple to look at.

Jamie - Full time teacher. It's very complicated. In Illinois, there is a new law in place from the Illinois State Board of Education that says that all "first year teachers" must have a rating (higher than a 1) from their administrator by a certain date. Our district doesn't allow teachers to have their evaluations until the end of the school year, so even though I got a 3 out of 4 rating, I was automatically given a rating of a "1" because it wasn't done by the certain date. They don't LET teachers get the rating. Then they let the first year teachers go. It is the STUPIDEST thing in the world.

Moes - That is pretty awesome. I teach high school. I would love to get my doctorate and work for a university. It's a lot less of a headache, that's for sure... Good for your friend.
