Etsy Etiquette

What are your general views on the etiquette of etsy?

I favourite a lot of stuff - even though I don't like some of the stuff, I just do it anyway. And I hope I get more favourites in return. Sometimes I do. Sometimes I don't. What are your views on returning a favour?

Do you prefer favourites on your listings? Or shops?

Re: Etsy Etiquette

I like my favorites to be stuff I genuinely like. I know sometimes there are forums post to favorite the item above you and such, if it's something I don't like, then I'll wait, lol.

Occasionally, I go through my favorites to clean stuff out as well. I do this because a lot of times I'll make treasuries based on items in my favorites or something will inspire a whole treasury theme.

Re: Etsy Etiquette

I tend to favorite things I like also...that I want to use in a treasury or buy. I guess I don't really think of favoriting as marketing?

Re: Etsy Etiquette

It is bizarre, I experimented with 'favourites' and the more I favourite, and more I get in return and the more views I get. So it makes sense to favourite as much as possible.

Now when it comes to trreasuries, I try to add items that aren't already in loads of treasuries. I tend to go for items and shops that don't have as much exposure. Do you guys do this too?

Re: Etsy Etiquette

Yes...I do that with treasuries also and I try to reciprocate with people that have featured me in theirs, but I haven't had a lot of tile for treasuries lately...
