I know this is being discussed ad nasuem on the forums but this facebook and etsy changes are really screwing with my numbers and that makes me a cranky crazy honey badger!
FB has some crap about not letting your customers see your posts unless they bend over backwards and spin on one foot and etsy...oh etsy...they are ALWAYS changing crap and then advising your to PROMOTE RENEW RELIST! I am gobsmacked that they have the nerve to promote some "pricing workshop" which is basically designed to get all the shops to raise their prices. Why? Because then they get a higher cut but all the shop owners are so happy to be told their work has value they fail to see the fleecing. Not saying peopel shouldnt value their work but to listen to a business that makes money from YOUR WORK about pricing is just....naive? yeah lets stick with a nice word.
I agree with the whole crappy FB thing. My views on my FB have dropped because they don't see my posts. It is ridiculous! Plus I just paid £10 for an advertising compaign that only got me 3 new likes and I set my budget for £5. No idea why I was charged £10. Expensive 3 new likes.
And I am fed up with etsy too. I am fed up with all the mass produced items on here, from sellers who claim to have made them by hand, and they sell so cheap with 1000s of sales. I report the obvious shops, but etsy don't seem to do anything about it. Why? Because etsy makes a shit load of money from these shops.

No matter what I type in as far as "handmade rag dolls" rag doll or what have you, I can't show up. I've done everything - I think - as far as the SEO "rules" go but the thing that is really starting to irk me is that this is not working. I already know Etsy is not my target audience, but I want to know what shops with 10 things and nothing in their titles/tags/descriptions (for various categories) shows up when I search for them.
Hi Kelly - I'm not necessarily worried about coming up in the first few pages as I know that can be difficult. I'm not coming up at all from what I can see.

My one thought is that people normally looking for rag dolls already have an image or an idea in mind. Judy is, admittedly, different. I knew this going in. She doesn't appeal to a mass audience which is fine, but I'm thinking also I'm marketing her all wrong as people who are buying her weren't looking for rag dolls to begin with.
There does seem to be something odd going on in the search results. I have noticed - and this has been discussed on another forum - that the first results that come up, seem to be the most recently listed. Thus SEO has nothing to do with it.
Hey, Katie! I was in the "bugs" forum this morning and there seems to be "an issue" although there's not really "an issue." Infer what you will. I've taken matters into my own hands, went to The Dark Side, and got a FB page. LOL.
Tegan, only thing I was going to suggest is that on one of your dolls there's a tag for "tres chic"... I'm not sure about many others but that's certainly not a search term I'd be using.
Thanks! I thought I'd throw a crazy one out there and see what happens. I'm using the Google keyword tool along with what other people say they'd search for. It's so weird. I don't get anything relating to colors, styles, lol. Just handmade rag dolls. Or my shop name or Judy dolls. You're very nice to look. I appreciate it.
Been making bangles and earrings, waiting for the final stages of the varnish to dry. I am not patient enough! Haha I just want to list them so badly!!!
