You are definitely right, the pictures come across as dull. Your items are great, but the pictures are not showing them off. I also noticed that the backdrops on some seem like pieces of paper with a seam in the middle of the photo. Using paper like poster board that is lightly bent (not creased) will give you a soft background without a distracting seam. Also try taking the pictures with diffused natural light. It will help add dimension.
Another thing I noticed is you have a lot of one word Tags. So, even though you may be getting some traffic, it's probably not the right traffic. Instead of having "Art" and "Western," how about "Western Art" or "Western Wall Art?" I hear that over and over that if you want to show up in relevant searches, do not use one word tags.
