I had a few similar thoughts to share. Here are a couple ideas that might help conversion rates for you.
I think the main thing here is that you only have a split second to pique interest in a potential buyer, and you lose your window of opportunity if it is not clear from the first picture exactly what it is or how it will be used.
Having said that, your pieces are obviously flowers, just not yet obvious from the first image how to use them. Once I click on the image, I often see the back of someone's head with your item which doesn't emotionally engage me to buy the item because normally the back of someone's head isn't the focus of a photo. Might be worth taking a picture like one of the following:
