I'm afraid to ask for critique..but it must be done

Opened my shop about 4-6 weeks ago and had two sales, but one was a friend of mine..I reworked my pics and titles..it's tough not knowing why I'm not getting a lot of traffic. Can someone please take a look?

hi barbara - i'm in a similar situation, and have been trying to explore ideas. have looked through your shop, and here are a few thoughts:

- your images, descriptions, and categorizations are good - it's easy to find items in your shop, you have lots of different product, and the jewelry looks nice.

- it's hard to differentiate in the etsy format, overall. a shop is a shop - though there are things you can do, to stand out. banners are a good idea, along with the shop story and owner profile. you've written a nice profile - though you don't have a banner for your shop, and on its face, it doesn't look much different from any other bead shop. you can find lots of free banner makers online. try to think of some other ways to help the shop stand out - i'm going to be trying a lot of things, myself - let me know if you come up with anything really interesting!

- your categories are effective - though the items seem a little disorganized. the "most recent" sort isn't as easy for customers to view the items they want to see, and you want them to see - you might want to consider defaulting to a custom sort - there are instructions for this in the etsy help.

- your product descriptions read a lot like search tags. i don't know if you're using all 13 search tags, and i don't know what your stats look like - you might want to consider focusing your product names on the top search terms, rather than all of the potential search terms.

i hope these ideas help - would love to know how it works out.
